personally I think they look like *** and is exactly the sort of thing a kid would do then go around saying "yeah I got the new big brake setup".

Outside of that I wouldn't want a totally unnecessary piece of metal floating around my wheel wells, just imagine the fun if something comes lose and starts flying around, tearing your wheels to hell.

Nothing makes me laugh like seeing someone who has thet stick on fake fender vents, a fartcan exhaust, and every other toy off the "mods" isle at AutoZone.

Seriously man -- use the money you would spend on those, and put it in savings, or put it towards something legit for your car. Sure, might take a bit longer to save up, but trust me it's worth it.

Some of you guys are just full of sometimes! They are not fake "anything" they are just covers! If you paint you calipers red, then now you have fake red color on your calipers because they did not come red from the factory! If you put z06 style, or spider wheels or whatever, then you are a posser, because the car did not come that way from the factory, right! Oh, hell...How many of you have fake metal or painted covers on everything under your hood???? Posers!!!! Come on, get over it. We change our cars the way we like to, and the OP does not need your stupid opinions unless you plan on responding to his question. Which was not if you liked the product. If your car is not 100% stock, you are a poser in someones eyes!!! Poser out!

If the caliper covers weren't so cartoonishly huge, they'd look ok.

That's the problem, IMO. Why are they so big? Because it's an attempt to fake the look of larger brakes. This is not the same as putting a chrome/painted cap on your power steering pump, that's just decoration and is not designed to fool the observer into thinking it's something else.

Most people don't even know what big brakes are! Most don't even know the difference between a Z06 and a base vette. Unless you live in the vette world, it's all about what looks nice. I had a full widebody vette, and I only got crap from other forum members, saying...POSER! It does not matter what anyone does with their car, "someone' is going to scream poser, or junk or whatever.... When anyone asked, I say,"they are caliper covers" For those with painted calipers, I guess you just say, I painted them, you can get the paint from Autozone, on the shelf next to the fake hood scoops!

^^^ I have to agree with the anything we do to our vettes can be labeled as cheesy or poser. I have the ZO6 chrome repos and a ZO6 stock spoiler so I guess I am a poser also on my base C6. C'mon people we have members sporting those cheesy billet side spears, ebay led tail lights, racing stripes, billet grills, windshield banner decals etc etc which I find cheesy myself. The end results is we all mod our vettes to our liking that is what make seeing different ideas interesting some things we like others we don't but in the end it's all about our own individuality.

The spoilers and wheel are real parts lol....Not hubcaps for brake rotors... lol... Of coarse those that paid money for them like them...How else could it not be retarded.

Now some of that other stuff you mentioned are just like rotor hub caps.

Einstein married his cousin...so you know everyone likes different stuff. That ain't for me though.

Default Faux cross drilled rotors

I'm looking into developing a kit to compliment the faux big brake calipers. It will give the look of cross drilled rotors at a fraction of the cost. The kit will consist of (1) Black can of high heat BBQ spray paint, (1) hole punch, and (4) sheets of paper, customized cut to the diameter of your brake disc rotor(one for each rotor!) .

Instructions:

1. Remove faux extra large brake caliper cover.
2. Remove actual, real much smaller real brake caliper.
3. Remove wheel. Wait, that should be step one.
4. Jack car..damn it, that's step one.
5. Take hole punch and punch holes (preferably in some recognizable pattern) into custom paper disc covers.
6. Place hole punched custom paper disc cover over brake rotor.
7. Shake can of BBQ black paint, then paint paper cover.
8. Remove paper cover and reinstall real brake caliper, followed by faux extra large big brake caliper cover, then wheel.
9. Repeat on each brake disc.
10. Enjoy the looks of envy from fellow enthusiasts!!

I might offer a group buy. Who's in?!!

hey Bryan, I just looked up your mods...Why did you replace your stock wheels? Chrome does not make your car run any better, and the factory wheels must have been lighter! I'll be nice, but you mod your car your way, and let others do it their way! The ole, "for each his own" thing applies here. Hey, I did get my air freshener form Auto zone!
Well only one thing. In 05 there were no chrome wheels, they only had the clear coated polished aluminum. They looked ok at first, but over time the clear coat flaked off and didn't look very nice. My chrome wheels are exactly the same weight as stock wheels. They are OEM factory wheels from a 2007. So that being said, my form fits function..

And I love those air fresheners from Auto zone! I've got about a hundred on my dash and it smells terrific! P.S. Spongebob is my favorite.

To be fair, you only got a ration of $hit when you added Z06 embroidered seat covers & Z06 logoed floor mats.

I think they will look sharp. I was hoping to get some ideas on easy ways to install. I've heard thru some folks that it can be done without removing the wheels. That was what I was hoping to find out thru the forum. I appreciate everyones opinion, but I have mine and it seems like others on this forum have one too.

the calipur covers cost 300. Now you can get the z51 brake system for 600 from partstaxi. Is the z51 brake system worth it? Cause I believe you get what you pay for. If the z06 brake system cost around 2000 how much better are they?

Holy Smokes Batman...I have been busy the last couple of days but to see this thread still goin is GREAT...No matter if you get the big brake kit or not you still dont have a Z06...than that means your are a poser aswell...because you are trying to fool people in to thinking you have a Z06 when you dont??? And even if the spoiler and the wheels are Real GM parts dont make it any less of a poser?? So let me get this strait...If i get LS7 fuel rail covers from GM parts??? and put them on my LS2 than that is ok because it is a GM part??? Great Idea...And just because somthing wasnt available when you bought your car like the Chrome wheels doesnt make it any less of a mod....Hell they didnt have proJector headlights on the C5 but that doesnt stop owners from putting those sweet wannabes on there??I dont love that look but i dont make fun of them for it? Here is what i look for when i do a mod...I try to do a mod that if i wanted to take my car back to stock before i sell it..I can take the mods off....so the caliper covers fit perfect...if i sell to somebody who wants a totally stock C6 than i can do that...but if I add the entire Z06 BBK than it is alot harder to go back to stock?? It is that easy for me...but everybody else that drills into there car to put on a GM PARTs spoiler..is fine by me too...I dont love it but it makes it there own car...If It is a Corvette Accessory than it is ok by me..unless it is that sweet chrome bumper with 22 exhaust tips...i thank it is the new Continental Package for the C5...just missing the tire..
