Guys are asking what went wrong. I seem to remember a new set of tires just a few days ago. Any connection? If so, maybe a tire report in the near future.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I'm glad he is doing OK. From the previous posts Steve seems like a positive attitude guy. I think that he now has something to look forword to..... A new Vette and plenty more mods to keep him busy! Feel better, let us know what you end up with!
Steve is off all the tubes and drugs that were keeping him in the clouds. About the only thing he really needs now is a little time to recover and FOR SURE a shower !!!
gotjuice? (Arnold) got his car back to his house/shop and actually started it up. Lots of smoke and no cooling system (among other things) but it fired up .....kind of......
Anyway - Looks like Monday Steve can go home and start his long road to recovery. Well done buddy!!
Steve...from another Steve here on the Forum...on May 2, just a few weeks ago...I too lost my '08 Corvette, and have had to "start anew" with another C6.
Mine was taken from me by a "hit and run" driver at 6 am going to a Corvette show here in Kansas City. Like you, I had spent considerable time and effort, not to mention, several thousands in mods, to get my car to the level of yours, winning two back to back top 20 awards from the C5-C6 Bash.
I suffered a couple back injuries hitting a concrete barrier on I-70 at an amazing 50-55 mph head on. I still feel the effects of my impact but I am lucky to be alive...thank the Lord.
Dealing with the insurance company, over my car, and health care billing, I am sure I will be dealing it for several more months, all because some low life decieded to spoil my dream of owning a fun american icon like our Corvettes.
I hope ALL the best for you Steve. There will be injuries that we all can recover from, and I have replaced my car with a new Grand Sport, but it will never take the place of your white car...trust me...but hopefully, over time, you will be OK, and please PM me, so I can call to tell you the details to help you out with the insurance co. and let me know how I can help you with anything related, my friend...there is only a few of us that really know how all this works when your prized Corvette is gone...
I will be looking forward to hearing from you and Godspeed on your recovery!
Thanks everyone who has prayed for my recovery. I blacked out (not drunk) and do not remember a thing other than when I arrived at the hospital. Last I remember is I was getting up to speed and then the hospital, I was not boosting, though when I blacked out my right foot did hit the go pedal and I was in either 3rd or 4th when this happened.
Today is the first day I felt recovered enough to sit at my computer and read what everyone posted, thanks again. I want to thank my great wife, some special friends (if I only name a few I will leave some out so you know who I am talking about), Univeristy Hospital Surgical Doctors for saving my life and treating me like a first class citizen. Those tramua nurses were just awesome in taking care of me and this is our public healthcare at it's best.
I now I am here today for a few reasons, the lord, family, friends, and my Wolfe Street Roll Bar, it is great to be an American

what he and Mike (Vasta) said! Your wolfe street roll bar, eh...well, that's quite an endorsement. But then again, if it worked to save a life, it's worth every penny. Get well soon.
