All you have to do is lower the passenger side outside mirror BEFORE you parallel park.
That way you can see the curb as you backup to park along side it.
You guys make me laugh , tell ya what...FIXED IT..
I drive my DD 08 coupe in the rain, sleet, hail and snow.
I park my vette in parking lots all the time.
My DD 08 coupe does not sit in a garage because I don't have a garage for it.
I purchased my vette brand new back in Dec. 07.
It now has 52,000 miles on the odometer.
Suffered minor curb rash pulling into a spot during Carlisle. Another car on my right, curb jutting out toward the street on my left.Lucky it only rashed the clearbra.
If there's a convenient option to take a somewhat more secure parking space I'll do it but I don't go to extraordinary lengths to avoid parking near other cars. If parallel parking is my only reasonable option I'd park the car and not worry about it. Chances are the car will be fine.

I don't see how the traffic cones will help in the parallel parking scenario...if they can't see the front of your car they can't see the pylons either.
That's a BIG dude! It looks like he has to stick his head out the window.
Best way: Make sure your insurance is payed up and drive it.... Its a car. If i saw a vette with a flag or cones i would be tempted to do something as well.
