Did you read and try what Bobby95 suggested in your original thread on this problem?

You also said in your original thread that you tried about 10 different ways to reset the indexing. Was the one in THIS thread one of those 10? The window indexing reset in this thread is the same as what's in the owner's manual for your car. Why did you try 9 others?

Because I read the thread and a lot of other combinations worked.

Once again the knowledge on this site is just a tremendous resource. Drivers window stopped indexing and after a two minute search on this site, its fixed. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this. WHY- WHY are there so many issues when you change the battery? The auto industry still has not figured out how to deal with electronics. I worry greatly about how these vehicles will age, and when there are fewer around to find this kid of crap on forums. I had to:
- reset the trunk release
- reset the clock (using a disk that I had to create)
- reset the windows
Are there any I have missed???

You may be the first person with a C6 to have to do this.
All I had to do with my 2 battery replacements was index the windows, which took all of 10 seconds. Seems fair to me.

I hope someone sees this and has an answer/suggestion. Replaced the batt in my '06 C6. Pass window did not need indexing, drivers did. Have tried numerous times, in all the slightly different versions suggested, and the window is still down the 1/8-/1/4" Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The only thing i can suggest is to make sure that the door is shut while doing this. If you did have the door closed, then disconnect the battery, then after you reconnect, try the indexing again. Re-index the passenger wondow as well, even if you think it doesn't need it.

Just so it's clear: (From 2006 owner's manual)
ignition on without starting the car.
Driver side.
Close the door
Raise window using the up switch
Hold in that up position for 3 seconds after the window is closed.
Release the up switch
Hold the Up switch again for 3 seconds.

That should re-index properly.

Repeat on passenger side.

Well, that was it. Thanks! I thought I was being smart by blocking the drivers door open in case I needed to get in the car when the battery was disconnected. I should have known better, this is my 4th battery. I guess that's not bad for for a 14 yr old car. I also have a '14 C7 that I got in Oct '13 that is still on its first battery and it still tests good on load. What a difference engine heat makes!

Glad you got it sorted out.
