IMO 06+ 08+ if you really care about the 30hp. But really there are plenty of people here that are more than happy with their 05's and some have almost 100K miles on them now without any problems.
The newest Vette is always the best Vette due to minor fixes during the model run. The key words here are "model run". Like 96 C4s, 2004 C5s and 2011 C6s.
I have an 09 cyber gray 3LT. Most Dad's pass them on to their sons, however I bought mine from our son. COOL. C6 is the way to go and loving it........

That's right - late year 05 here and FRIGGIN LOVE IT MAN!
06 is the best, GM workers still cared about product and the C6 was still kinda new. No odd issues pop up on the 06 at least for me. IM at $ 25 K and my C6 has been bullitproof.
Going on six years with my '05' and love it. Lost a water pump at 13,000 miles but that was it. Never left me stranded and was fixed in one day under warrenty.
Which year is best for the money? Earliest year...08, it was the biggest year for improvements. Now you just have to find one at at good price, low miles, preferred color, and maybe some options. Good luck!
