So tell me you guys that bought a GS or Z06.Did you know that the soft tread would yield such short mileage? Is it really worth it to get 7K to 15 K out of a set of tires? Let me ask this, do you think that the extra grip really saved you from losing it on the street? If you were to change over to the PS2 A/S and get close to 45K would the ride or grip difference be a deal breaker?

I don't like coincidences. A buddy of mine bought a 2010 GS. He loved the car and babied it. Never burned out, never drove it hard. At 7,000 miles his tires were toast but he didn't take it sitting down. Complained to the dealer and to Goodyear. Long and short of it is that he got 4 new tires. He said they were free but of course I didn't see any bill. Still, he has never lied to me. I say check it out, rattle some cages, don't take no for an answer. Who knows, you might just come out on top like my Bud. I don't like coincidences.

No I am telling u I bitched a fit and got free tires. They told me that these high performance tires are sometimes defective. So they gave mem free tires. I went to Goodyear first but since the warranty was under 12,000 the dealer was responsible. So I went back to the dealer and told them this. On the spot they ordered me new tires !

The second set of GY run flats on the front are now at 25K miles and about 1/2 worn, so if driven carefully, you can easily get 50K out of a set of OEM GY run flats, if that's your goal.
WHAT ??? That is unbelieveable ! What am I doing wrong ?

Default Gen2 Supercar low milage

4000 mi on a very gently driven 2011 convertible. Dealer is doing a "goodwill" replacement, but can't say why they are shot. Fronts were down to the wearbars on the inside, (alignment was "just slightly off", and the rears were "out of round". All I can think is that I made a couple of 1000 mi trips in colder weather (40F or so) and these were summer compound tires. When I get the new tires, the first trip will be to an alignment shop.

Alignment should be under warranty 12/12 at very least.Colds temps should not affect tire wear like that.Summer tires tread pattern is not for snow/ice etc.Not that the tires will wear faster in cold.It gets cold here in the south but no body uses winter tires.

It's the alignment. C6s set up properly for the street will not wear out the insides. I've done 80K miles on several sets of tires with dead-even wear side-to-side.

You can't compare your tires to his. You have to compare your's to other GS's or maybe Z06's. I got 15k out my C6 tires and I autocrossed it but I only got 7k out of my Z.

I have a narrow-body C6, but if the widebodies are similar, the alignment parameters are loose enough that your car can be set up to eat tires and still be in-spec. You need to find a shop that can set up your car properly.

My C6 wears its tires perfectly evenly AND handles. Most C6s trash the inside fronts, so much so that the rumor "they all do that" got started. They don't. The difference is in the alignment.

Also, the original F1 Supercars were extremely prone to wear - twice as bad as Michelin PS2s, without offering any more grip. Usually you get something in return for wear-prone compounds, but not with those tires.

I haven't tried the new-generation Supercars.

2005 Z51

On my third set:

Original GY Runflats - 20,000 miles

BF Goodrich KDWs - 50,000 miles (non-runflats)

Just installed Continental Extreme DWS (new however rated 540 which I believe is 50,000 miles) (non-runflats)
