I try to wax/seal my car once a month. I love that smooth to the touch feel and mirror reflection the Machine Silver paint gives off. It's quite addicting. With the cold weather here it's not possible to wax that easily in the NE. My question is this:
My car never even sees rain or snow or salt, etc.... So am I ok till the spring? Or should I maybe have the car waxed once when I take it to be washed of course at a hand wash place. Luckily I have an indoor auto spa close to my house that charges $10.00. I just don't trust them waxing my car. Only cause I'm not sure what they use. Maybe I can BMOW
You have enough wax on it that there is no need to worry about it until Spring. I wax mine around once a month or less. A good wax or sealant will last 6 months.
My Vette is a year round daily driver. I do a comprehensive polish and seal twice a year. I do a good wash maybe every couple of weeks and dust off in between as needed. Once in a while I will use a speed shine on a clean surface to gloss it up a bit. The car always looks great!

Most sealants (synthetic waxes) should last 4-6 months in average elements and certainly more if kept inside and washed regularly. Carnauba wax products can protect 6 weeks to 3 months on average. I too prefer to apply my own products and carefully to avoid marring. Alot of products offer booster sprays and can be used after a wash to extend the life of wax or sealant.
For those that like to wax often or try new products, I highly suggest a paint cleansing lotion. Used just like a wax, it will remove older product and any buildup chemically and prep for new product. Its not an abrasive polish and obviously that could be done also but likely on a more sporatic basis. (1x to 2x's a year)
Personally?-less than once every 6 months. I bought a white car for a reason- so I could run it through the local car wash and have the detail guy give it a quick wax every now and then.

I would not worry about waxing it over the winter...as Autogeek said, most sealents last 4-6 months depending on conditions and even more if the car is inside. Throw a cover on it to keep the dust off, and pull it out in spring and wash/wax it. If its sitting inside out of the elements there is no reason to keep waxing it or putting sealent on it.
When my car is not stored during winter..I normally put Rejex on it once when I pull it out of storage in April, then I'll put another coat of sealent on in August maybe, and then Pinnacle Carnuba about once every 4-5 weeks.
If your car never sees rain, snow or salt you probably don't need to bother with wax as that's what wax was tended to defend against.
I live in Florida and drive my '06 black 'vert in the rain and occasionally to the beach where it is subject to salt spray and sand. Not to mention sometimes brutal heat and sunshine. I thouroughly detail it once a year but wash, vacuum etc. a couple of times a month.
The detail includes stripping old wax, clay bar, sealer, polish and good wax. Then every couple of months I wax with Turtle Wax liguid. Between waxing I use MaGuires Quick Detail.
