That being said, not all of us trade/sell cars. When I get bored of a car, it goes to the warehouse with the others.
Went with E-Force SC and love it! No regrets what so ever because I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my car. For starters I DO NOT buy play toys for investments... they are EXPENSES that bring me lots of fun.. nothing more! When you start sitting around worrying about the resale you're probably better off not buying something like a vette to start with. Should I want something slower and more mundane I'd consider a Z06... but well over 600+hp at the crank I like mine just the way it is........ BTW I saved about 10k over buying a used Z and mine drives and runs like stock!

Know what you want, research it well and then make an informed decision! Don't listen to folks here because everyone has their own ax to grind including me... no one's really neutral in this on going never ending debate! Make your own decisions based on information available right here on the forum.....

If it's something you really want to do and you can easily afford it....do it. Whether you mod your car to run on a track or just to drive to the store its something you can enjoy every time you start your car. Consider it money well spent!

I love my car and plane to never sell it. It will ultimatly go to my son in time. The reason I can't break my tires loose is they are wider then a stock c6. My car has a wide body kit on it and the Z06 size tires. This mod trip you end up going on takes you first to one step then to another and another and another and before you know it you have dumped 20k. I can easly afford the mods no problem but I do hate to waste money. I guess part of me is a little cheep.I can see now just how easy it is to get carried away.

My dad taught me many years ago MONEY was only good if you enjoy it! How you do that is obviously up to you. If spending money on mods feels like a waste then it is... for you!! People all have priorities and unless you're filthy rich (nothing wrong with that either) you need to figure out what really gives you enjoyment. I have friends with some pretty FAT banks accounts but I guess their enjoyment is viewing their bank statements.

When it's all said and done no one is getting out alive so you might as well enjoy your money and hard work doing things you want! For me having a car that's a beast when you stomp the pedal is a total rush. For others it seems like a waste of time and money! To each their own.... Just don't wake up years from now regretting all the things you COULD have done but didn't.....

I have absolutely no regrets about my build. I have always wanted to buy and mod a corvette. Not having as much financial backing as some of the other people on the forum, it took me quite some time to find the car I wanted at a price where I would have enough left for mods. After six months of looking I finally found here on the forum a 06 C6 Coupe Z51 with only 16k miles on it and at the price of $25k I couldn't resist. From there I put about $15k in engine mods with absolutely no regrets. I love me car! If I was going to do it all over again the only thing I would have done different is I would have put some money into the chassis and suspension. Not that it is not great from the factory but when you have a rock solid 700rwhp, I think you would want suspension and handling to match.

I drove my C5 for 3 years stock and then wanted more power so I put in a new motor and blower setup, was awesome for 5+ years until I totaled it. After 3 years of no stock Vette for trips we got an 09. This one will stay stock power wise as it is our daily driver. I am looking to get another C6 to mod to feed both of my needs an insane one and one my wifey will drive and we can go anywhere in.

One last opinion, my 08 was like you describe your car. Didn't feel like the old school muscle cars. I did a torque converter change to a yank 3600 and a tune. You will be amazed at the difference. From there you can do more if you want to be faster. You can have this done for roughly $1500. Good Luck.
