From the looks of it alot of you dont use your vette as a daily driver, im now looking to buy something i can drive to and from work and just around town .... a " grocery getter " if you will, but have no idea what to go with... need some ideas, whats everyone use for a daily car ??
man, really depends on what you want out of it.. do you want a little 4 banger..or thinking like a beater truck? I know you said grocery getter but that could be anything now days.
I had a Ford Ranger with 100k on it... loved that lil truck..when that gave out I bought a Green 02 Olds Alero it is a true pimp mobile (which I use now) with 70k on it.. loaded it now has 132k on it (knock knock on wood) and still running pretty good.
From April to Nov..I try and drive my vette daily, but there are certain times when I don't take it out for whatever reason.
I kind of want a G8... I know... I know... no more pontiac... but I've always owned a pontiac. Right now I still have a 2003 Grand AM GT. It's getting kind of old now, but great as a DD.
I'm lucky in that my DD is a company car. I also own a H3, the wife drives it to work as her toy is a Miata. The H3 also gets me to work in snowy weather.
The Vette is a leisure car, for driving on weekends, vacations, to car shows etc. I'd like to keep it that way.

My fiance has a 09 MB SL550 as her DD (I actually drive it more). I switch up between the Vette and my 09 Silverado LTZ Z71 when I'm not driving the MB. Actually a lot of the days she drives the truck and I drive the MB. She is wanting to add a new Buick Lacrosse. It is a truly beautiful car. We also have a 2002 Dodge 3500 Cummings that I use when I need to tow our boat. Before I purchased my truck I had a 08 Tahoe LTZ that was pretty amazing. I wish I would've kept it but my truck is the exact same vehicle with a bed so I can't complain. I figure if we drive the MB as a DD it would be really silly to keep the vette locked up all winter. We just drive whatever whenever. It works for us. Good luck with your choice.

How about a nice 68 VW Bug? You'll be miserable riding in it all winter, but you'll have the satisfaction that your "nice" car is home and getting better treatment than you do.
Never understood why someone would buy a late model Corvette and not use it as their dd. I look forward to going to work in the morning 'cause I get to drive my GS!

How much do you like the Buick? Like I posted the fiance really wants one but I refuse to trade in the SL550 for it. I said I would go for it if I could trade the vette in too and get a Z but we really don't feel like I would be gaining much since I'm going to SC the vette by summer and the Z has a fixed roof.
