Has anyone done the the NCM Xperience? With C6 mfg soon being phase to the C7 my wife mentioned driving down to Kentucky this summer to do this for my birthday prior to the factory being retooled for the C7.
We did it a few years ago. Was sorry I went way out of my way for the experience. We were there on a Monday morning, the staff was rude, my sons wallet was stolen (and there were only staff present) and couldn't get anybody to wait on us at the gift shop at the end of our visit. Won't go again.
I did inform the CEO of the museum about our visit. He apologized, BUT didn't try to make amends otherwise.

I did it in October, I had a great time and if I can do it again I will. People there are awesome, the VIP plant tour and employees there are awesome, there is nothing bad I can say about the whole "Xperiance".
My wife, son, and I picked up ours at NCM on March 4. The experience was fantastic, especially the wonderful reception on the part of all of the people involved. The applause when all come out as the car moves from the Museum is nothing less than spectacular. Special thanks to Bruce and Lori who made this such a great time. I'd do it again in a minute!

Do they do a really good detail on the exterior of the car or is it just a wash with a spry wax?

I did both the buyers tour, and museum delivery. It was well worth it to me. I beleive the car is better prepped at the museum (and I received the same comment from one of the factory line persons).
There is a 2 week gap between when it comes off the line, and you pick it up.
Once the museum gets it, they have the opportunity to look it completely over. Anything they find, they can go to the factory to get a replacement. They use a paint care kit that you can buy at the museum store. The interaction I had both times I went their, it was apparent to me that they took pride in what they were doing.

Well, I drove down in the rain, 700+ miles and when they detailed it the car looked like it was showroom new on the outside. Being 100% honest I do not think they actually waxed it but it was real clean!

My car was flawless.
You're talking "new" though. The Xperience package is bringing your used vette to the museum (in this case my '08), they do an exterior detail on it while I would do a VIP tour & Museum tour and then they do a museum delivery (take pictures, etc).

If you have done this what's your opinion of it?
I wouldn't count on c7 switch yet. Maybe a couple of years.

Perhaps you were there before the financial meltdown when employees didn't realize they had to work and service their client base.
I did the plant tour last Wed(Mar 31/11) @ 830 in the morning and then continued on to the museum. The museum was alright ..the plant tour was the best $7 I've spent. The plant tour was worth the 10 hr drive, not sure if i would drive 10hrs for the museum.
