Just as a teaser, here is a Vette at our GM-Corvette show at Sport Chevrolet in July. This is a Z06 frame and engine with a kinda C2 one-off body. Note the split window on this one. It is a beautiful machine
Yep! I would like to see these lines blended into the C7 but apparently retro styling is risky territory in the car business. The new Camaro seems to be catching on but the new Thunderbird Ford did a few years ago was a flop. Personally, I thought that T-Bird didn't have enough retro in it which is why it didn't go over.
I can't believe we have to rehash 50 year old car designs because no one can come up with fresh material. I'm not saying retro can't be successful - I think the Ford GT was a home run - but that's the exception to the rule. The retro Vette shown here is interesting, but not something I'd stand in line buy.
Are you guys forgetting we now have technologies to circumvent the horrid split window blind spots? There will most likely be a rearview camera embedded in the rear view mirror or somewhere else convienent. Problem solved.

That's true, but it's like creating a problem where one didn't exist, then using technology to solve the problem which in turn adds cost, complexity, and creates more possible failure points.
