UPDATE 9/01
Just got the call from the dealer, he said the harmonic balancer bolt was finger tight!!! The mechanic checked the VIS report on my vert( which I purchased in Jan of this year) and found out it has been in for service for a harmonic balancer issue about 3000 miles ago. He checked the harmonic balancer and ordered a new bolt and washer. Hopefully all is good. I still can't believe it didnt work itself off the crank!!
Hi all!
Went to watkins glen over the weekend and got to participate in the driver intro laps ( had Marcos Ambrose in my car), and car was squealing and shredded a belt on the ride home. Seems the harmonic balancer moved forward and is off from the rest of the pulleys and tearing up the edge of the belt. I know there is a TSB on this issue (wobbling harmonic balancer) and my vet is an 07 and still under driveline warranty. Does anyone know the the Technical Service Bulletin number for this issue? My hoodliner got tore up from the shredded belt, does anyone think GM will cover that and the belt?
Thanks for your help

Reason: Update
Unless there was another TSB I'm not aware of, the original one only applied to the first 11,039 MY 2005 cars. The 2007 should not have been affected by the TSB. It's a big job, so you're very lucky to have that warranty.
If the pulley has in fact moved forward then the center bolt has come loose just at in the 2005 TSB. If the bolt is loose do not start the engine. The pulley will spin on the front of crank and damage the crank as well. And the pulley may fly off causing other damage to the front of the engine and the car. Tow it to a dealer.
I'm sorry about the problem. You're lucky you made it home...if it threw the belt you'd overheat in less than a minute (not to mention the potential for collateral damage). Tow it to the dealership...good luck!
This is a good example that the crank-bolt pulley issue isn't limited to early VIN 2005's....it can happen with any model year C6.
