Mine is a 2005 with 54,000 miles on it. I bought it used last year with 47,000 miles on it, so I've driven it 6,000. The only problem I've had is that it seems the a/c compressor is making a funny whining sound at 1800 rpms.
From what I'm told, the car was a trade in, and was not drivable when they brought it in. It came in on a tow truck! They sent it to the chevy dealer, had the snycros for 1st and 2nd replaced, and put it all back together. (manual 6 speed). They gave me a warranty on the transmission, and it has shifted like butter since I've had it, no issues!
Other than that, the car is an animal! I love it! And I've almost gone through a set of rear tires in 6,000 miles, so you know I DRIVE the car! It had all brand new tires when I bought it.
Because they are for the most part low milege cars there are less problems
I love the posts: " 6K miles and no problems" ...
My C6 never left me stranded... but it wasn't trouble free..
Considering the power, handling and the fun factor... It's worth
sacrificing a bit of reliability for some minor problems..
Long live the Corvette !!!

I'm one of the lucky ones. I have a 2005 coupe. The car was built on October 4, 2004 for the 2005 model year and has 32,000 miles on it. I've changed the oil once per year and replaced two turn signal bulbs.
I had the TSB done for the SWPS harness causing the service active handling/traction control performed when the light came on in the DIC and I've had to replace the gas cap because it stopped sealing.

I am one of the unlucky/now lucky ones. I had multiple, multiple teething troubles with my '05 built at that same time. Small town stop and go daily driver with 27K miles. Over 50 shop days the first 5 years! But extremely trouble free the last 2 years. I'm thinking other than routine, I've only had to replace a hood strut since then.
2008 Z51 no problems, ran like a champ, 36K miles zero problems, best running car I've ever had, just felt eager every time, it was a good build... except for a cursed "targa" top...
2010 GS no problems so far, low miles so too early to report on reliability, but where the 2008 purred this one sort of "sounds" (not talking about exhaust) older than it is... a tick here, a slight tap there... we'll see how it goes...
I have an '09 Coupe with almost 17,000 miles. I have the Z51 option. No issues. Based on reading that I did here, I had an alignment done just 2 weeks after I bought the car. As a result, my "super car" run-flats still have plenty of life left on them. Apparently I am in the minority in that respect. I love the car, the power, the handling, the seats, and the NAV. I may be in the minority with those last 2 as well!
I have a 2008 Z51 with 14K miles. I have the following things done under warranty:
Replaced the radio, and a couple of rattling BOSE speakers (2 times)
Replaced the front right wheel bearings (14K miles)
Replaced the dash as it was a rattle box (7K miles)
Thermostat went out, causing the car to overheat, luckily I was near the dealership and they replaced under warranty. (10K miles)
A/C stopped working and it too was so sort of electric problem, fixed under warranty. (9-12K miles don't remember)
Reprogrammed the tranny as 2nd gear shifts were hard and progressively got harsher. (14K miles)
Plenty of squeaks and rattles here and there.....that is all that I can think of so far. I do have great luck with battery as I have left if un-started for 5+ weeks and starts up like a charm.
I am wondering if I should get the extended warranty as my GM CPO warranty will expire end of Dec 2011
Brake pads needs to be replaced as the front inner pads are worn out and the outsides have plenty of padding. (14K miles)
Will be replacing rear tires as the Michelin PS2 are wearing down. Very soft tires. (14K miles)
So currently looking for a good shop in Houston, TX to do the work and also any suggestions on which pads to go with. All suggestions welcomed.
I've owned four C6's and they have been among the most reliable Corvettes I've ever had. The only one that had to go back to the dealer was my 08 for the gas gauge problem (going to zero). That took about an hour to fix.
My Z06 is an 09 that just turned three years old and has 15,000 miles on it. Not one single problem.
This is a list of some the actual problems listed on two actual pages of the warranty history repairs, yes, two actual pages of repairs:
1. Two differentials,
2. Three batteries,
3. Two seat modules,
4. Crank sensor,
5. Harmonic balancer,
6. Rear wheel bearing,
7. Transmission cooling hoses,
8. Rear differential seals
9. Top separation,
10. Rear links,
11. Exhaust spring hangers,
12. Two shifters,
13. Door latch shims,
14. Steering wheel connector,
15. Loose exhaust clamps,
16. Gas cap,
17. Clutch packs
This lasted for 4 1/2 years and 60K miles with some unprofessional dealers- or stealer---ships. Bowling Green Assembly Plant engineer said, "I was in the worst 2% of Corvetts" when I spent 2 1/2 days in the plant with two engineers and a Union supervisor, that tells you something.
That's quite a list John. There are extremes on any bell curve, and you sure drew the short straw.
No need to hide amigo. A few lemons pop up with most anything. You should have better luck with the next 'vette; you are due.
Mine is an 08 coupe, 4LT, 37000+ miles, 85+% highway warm weather miles, no squeaks, no rattles, no problems whatsoever. I
lube the top pins when the top makes its annual popping noise once a year --- instant 2 minute fix. Of course I am very happy with the build quality of this amazing car.
I have the squeaky brakes on my 2008 non-Z51. I had the surfaces machined but they still squeak under light braking. No other issues for the past 6000 miles (in 5 months) that I have owned it. I did get an extended warranty just in case though.
I also have these a squeaky brakes that you speak of...I have got them off now, decided to give them a decent paint job, clean the pads and rotors up a bit and see if that helps. I am living in Germany where the car gets a bit of attention,
On our 09 the reliability has been good with the only must change part being a drivers front ABS sensor, the other items were comestic and got those changed under warranty with zero issue, at 30k I like what GM sold me
I have a 2008 vert with now about 7,000 miles....until Labor day, it had only 5,500....but we drove it to New York to visit family.....I figured, what am I saving it for, the next guy when I croak? So, enjoyed it....but oh man, those concrete roads and the joint gaps! OUCH!
Mine has been perfect.....never been to a dealer and I changed the oil myself just before the trip. I love the car.
It's not so much that the car has issues that can [easily] be fixed , but the unwillingness of the dealerships to actually authorize repair under wrranty. Quite simply if you can't illustrate your vette can't get out of gear, or your front wheels just fell off - you have little hope of getting anything less obivous fixed. We've all experienced the " Unable to replicate problem" excuse.
Some of the major denial of [repair] service is around these major issues:
1_ Wheel hop on tight turns- this is a wheeel bearing problem they will not address.
2_ Coast down shift & bump when coming on/off the gas pedal at low speeds is a tranmission problem.
3_Groan and chatter when making agressive turns- inferior differential fluid.
3_Plunking front & Rear when going over bumps is a Ujoint wear issue have yet to see a vette without it- some right out of the factory.
4_Unable to fill gas tank - early overflow click off unable to reengage - is like an Xfiles or Fringe episode for the dealerships.
5_ The ever famous Gear hunt in automatics , delayed shifting points are in need of recalibration of the drive module. Anything computer related the delarships is at a loss.
6_ The car will never throw an error code thought you are experiencing almost utter engine failure.
There are many others that will result in denial service as GM will not reimburse the Dealerships for repair work they deem is not neccessary or does not show complete and utter failure.
The worst point GM will not address and fix these issues in latter models as they remain in perpetuity until the next gen is released.
GM *** backwards once again and forever.
Get yourself a Hyundai Genesis- you'll be happier.

I bought my C6 used and haven't had to take it to the dealer except for the wiring fix for the telescopic steering wheel fix. Oil changes and normal maintenance is all I've done to it and has been perfect so far. Dead battery but that was due to fail as it was the original. I drive it like I stole it and have a ball driving it. It's my DD but I'm retired so some times it sits for two days then the next day I go for a 300+ mile drive. I love Arizona! Great roads great weather and no humidity (LOL).

Her is secret that works alot of times that GM or dealers will not tell you about. If you take it in for the SAME problem THREE times, they will usually address the problem. GM makes you work for the repair. I have been through this many, many times; therefore, I do know it works. I have two full actual pages of warranty repairs over 4 1/2 years of GM dragging their feet. Some examples: Two differentials, one rear wheel bearing, two shifters, clutch packs, three batteries, two seat moduels, harmonic balancer, etc. (from list of about 17 repairs or so, NOT including reflashes). This is on a 06 C6 A6 that also spent 2 1/2 ACTUAL days at Bowling Green Assembly Plant with TWO CORVETTE ENGINEERS, yes, I have learned alot how GM works. Try it, it might work for YOU. I even knew where the BBQ alot GM worker ate a few miles down the road and even one of my engineers ate their weekly and what he ordered. He was a red head so hard to miss.
HAVE NICE DAY!
See post #52, tells you alot!

My 06 C6 A6 has been an absolute lemon, it has been to so many dealers that they hate to see me coming!

Yea, I got the "BIGGEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!"
PS: I won't tell you about the GM's 1,000s/s (one thousand shares) I lost in bankrupcy.
