Default Easy Exit memory problem

My easy memory exit sometime it goes to a different possition, then when I start the car again and i do a test it works fine so I'm not sure why it work well 70% of the time and another 30% does not. Everything else in the seat works well.
Any ideas?

Are you always using the same fob every time?

Only other suggestion is to check the connections under the seat.

I personally have not had this problem but has been posted before and..
more often than not, it's the connection under the seat.

Had my C5 for 4 yrs. always had a problem with the memory seat untill I bought the GS and duh I found out the fobs are different so that explained that problem. On another note was going down the highway and the wife put her purse on the consol with the fob inside and you guessed it my seat went to her memory position. Not only that her name came up and said hello MJ

Besides checking for a loose harness connection, if you haven't already I'd disconnect the battery (for good measure) let it sit a while then re-connect the battery and reprogram the memory seat function to a different position. Try that a couple time then reprogram it to the position you want. You'll have to reindex the windows after disconnecting the battery. Also, I believe there's a memory seat module and a power seat/memory function fuse. You could remove and check those to make sure they're seated properly or even replace them with new ones. Good luck.

I'm having the same issue. My car is an 08 and it has 22000 miles. I have to manually move the seat forward an inch or so. When i do this and then press the memory button, the seat works fine and moves to its set position. Can get quite annoying at times and quite possibly get worse as my problem started happening a month ago. Iv heard a few reasons why this happens such as the plug being loose, relays in the module being faulty, the seat module itself being faulty, unplugging the battery and reconnecting or the motor has some kind of "memory" sensor that forgets where its located. People have went to the dealer to replace the module itself but all these things are temporary fixes. Nothing permanent as the problem reoccurs soon after. There has to be a main reason as to why this problem occurs. Unfortunately, i haven't seen any posts for a solution. Hopefully, someone will figure it out.

Our 2009 developed a similar problem at about the same mileage. Re-setting the memory locations would cure it for awhile, but it came back more and more frequently. Finally took it to the dealer, they checked the connectors and replaced the memory module under warranty.

That fixed it for a couple of months, then the problems started again. Each time, I would reset the memory positions and it would work for a few days. Then in March, I happened to set it again and it's been fine for the last 6 months/7k miles.

Go figure...

Some people say connectors again, I say magic.

I "cured" mine of doing the same by: Starting car, parking brake on, out of gear (manual), then hitting the button for my stored setting. YMMV.

Just getting in and hitting the seating button before starting usually results in a misalignment of some sort.

Alohaalex – have you taken your Corvette to the dealership to see if they have any ideas about what’s going on?

Thanks,

No yet, I'm taking my car for an oil change on friday I will let them know about this problem, the only negative thing is that this happens randomly and I think It will be hard for them to find out what is going on

My 2005 with 23,700 on it is having the same issue. I get in close the door, pusy #1 memory button (same # as FOB). The seats just decides to go up some and then the seat bottom will rise up a bit. It does not happen all te time. I go through the whole process of setting it each time. It reallly is frustrating.

I guess I need to look at the electrical connections under the seat. Also, can anyone tell me where this "seat module" is located? Is it under the sdeat too?

Thanks in advance!

The E-brake has to be on/up to use the memory features. You must have had the e-brake handle not all the way down.

I have had the same. 2008 Vert with 29000 miles. It has been a problem for years with no fix. 70% of the time it is correct.

That may be true with the stick shift, but the automatics will know what fob was used to start the car and do the automatic memory thing just so long as you started it in Park. No e-brake required. Some of the posters here don't have enough info in their profile to tell.

I have exactly the same problem with my 2007 coupe mn6.
In the summer heat it was happening most of the time, but the weather has cooled off and it hasn’t happened for the last month.
It seems like the seat forward motor doesn't know where it is. If the motor is a servo motor than, I’ll bet on a bad or heat sensitive encoder.

I just started having the same problem with my '07 and about 21,500 miles. Tried disconnecting the battery and then re-indexing the windows and resetting the seat memory but this only worked the first time I got into the car. My problem is that when I get in and push the seat memory, it doesn't work at all if the car isn't started. If the car is started (with the e-brake fully engaged in both scenarios), sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But, as others have mentioned, it does not do this all the time. My guess is that the car's battery is getting weak and in this weakended state, using electrical power in the car before starting it becomes limited. However, this doesn't explain why the memory button doesn't work after the car is started.
