I had the side windows and rear glass tinted. I wouldn't tint the entire windshield, maybe just the upper portion. Too dangerous at night. Illegal for a good reason.
I have a 50% tint on my front windshield. It helps with the glare from the road but doesn't impair my ability to see ANYTHING. Granted, most posters on here are somewhat "up there in age" and I can understand their unwillingness to have it done. Tinted windshields and glaucoma glasses don't mix . I also don't wear sunglasses in the car because they seem to impair me more than a lightly tinted windshield.

This has me LMFAO !!! Good call!
The only difference I can see between sunglasses and a tinted windshield is in most cases, the tint would be lighter than most sunglasses. Is there that big of a difference in a tinted windshield and sunglasses. Yes of course you can take off the sunglasses at night. Probably sfaer during the day with tint.

IMO , This is one if the dumbest things you can do not to mention totally illegal. It's bad enough when you tint darker than legal on the side and back, but please come to your senses and see how dumb this is. Off soap box.
Thanks for the input

NO to windshield. It is asking for trouble.
I was thinking about this. Because the contrast is ridiculous now.

Just my .02
Good point

I was debating this too. My tinter offered it but I was worried that would look weird. Anyone have a picture of this?

I have never in my life owned a pair of sunglasses. They bother me haha. And if I was going to wear sunglasses, I may as well tint the windshield?

This has to be the most compelling argument yet because the picture looks sick

Good point.
I expected the responses to turn out like this. I am not sure if it is the mean age of Corvette drivers or what? I have done a lot of stupid things to my Z that many people do not like or prefer. Many people do not like their Z's loud, but some prefer it. Some do not like that aftermarket look, some prefer it. My Z isn't a DD regardless. It has straight pipes, catless LTs, and a big cam. You cannot carry on a conversation in it and I do not really care about if the tint is legal or not; my mods are already not legal. But the visibility and safety of myself and others you all speak of is an issue. I just think my car looks ridiculous with such a clear windshield and it would be nice to keep more sun out of the interior. Thanks for the input. Keep it coming.
Tint it at around 50% it won't impair your vision at all. I was driving my buddy's truck all winter last year with a 35% tint on the windshield and I didn't miss a beat. I'll be tinting my vettes windshield very soon.
My buddy with a maro got his front tinted at 35%. It did look clean because his car was black but after about 3-4 times of night driving he wished he never got it. And a week later he got ticketed.
1) police have looked at and sat in my car and have never noticed the windshield being tinted. With my other windows tinted at 20% all around and the small dark interior of the vette, there's only been a handful of people that have noticed it and they all had it done to their cars too.
2) like all tint, it looks darker looking into the car than being inside and looking out.
3) I've already stated that visibility at night hasn't been reduced to the point that it's very noticeable.
4) it helps from being blinded by you fancy corvette owners and your HID headlights.

To those with the "old fart" type comments, there is a reason we have lived long enough to be old farts. We don't do dumb **** things like this.
The dumbest argument I've read is, "what's the difference between a tinted windshield and sunglasses?" You can take the sunglasses off at night. Duhhhh!!!
The "cool factor" over common sense safety is another dumb **** response.
I also don't wear sunglasses in the car because they seem to impair me more than a lightly tinted windshield.
I'm glad someone else finally feels the same way. I hate wearing sunglasses when driving, I feel more "out of it" and like I can't see/scan/notice stuff as well. I thought it was all in my head....
i dont wear sunglasses because i wear glasses and for some reason everytime i get perscription sunglasses they get broken/lost all most immeadatly. so i just tint the hell outta the top of the windsheild.
Not all levels of tint on the windshield would be dangerous. If anything, windshield tint is less dangerous than side window tint. The view out of the front is vastly superior to the sides, and the front is where your headlights are illuminating things. Plus the whole "blind spot" thing.
If a tinted front windshield is dangerous, then a tinted side window is moreso.
