I hope it is a tensioner or pulley bearing, but there sure is quite a bit of wobble there.....more than I'm comfy with lol. Engine feels good and smooth while accelerating and cruising, but I don't like that wobble and then when it was raining hearing the birds under the hood. I should find out tomorrow. Thanks y'all for your responses.
I'm thinking about contacting a Lawyer to start a CLASS ACTION SUITE, how many of you would be interested in getting in on it?
It's BS that these are not covered as a RECALL!!

A recall is only issued if an item is deemed a safety concern, and several reported incidents of said failure have to be documented.
I put mine in shop today to get mine replaced. I went with ATI and ARP bolts.
But you have to admit, This should be a RECALL!!
As far as I am concerned, recalls should be saved for safety items. Even if the balancer comes apart, nobody is going to get hurt unless they have the bad luck of having their head in the engine bay when it happens. GM clearly knows about this bad part and got away with it for the entire run of the C6. That is a bad deal. Is it dangerous, no. Complete failures have only been reported on here a couple of times in the last two years. A class action lawsuit for something like this is silly.
If the know it's a bad part, they should at least fix it for free.
A Lawsuit, OK maybe a little out there! But,I think everyone should stand behind their products they sell.
In basic terms you need to remove the balancer and grind a key way into the crank.
This isn't necessary. You can pin the balancer while its mounted. Some of the after markets give you the kit when you buy their balancer. In a nut shell you drill a hole from the front where the balancer and crank meet. They give you a guide to be sure you drill straight...etc. So you are actually drilling a small 1/2 round hole in each the crank and the balancer. Pound/press in the pin and your good to go....

That's not the point! You buy a $50k car and by the time you have 60k miles on it,you have to drop over $1000 into it for a faulty part!! One guy said his went out at 1,000 miles! Warranty covered that one. I has ASC Warranty on mine, but they just call it a PULLEY and won't cover it!!

You'll get no argument from me on that. I was just responding to a post. I've been a big advocate on the fact that the balancer going south is a big no-no from GM. I've kinda learned to just accpet it cause I don't think there is a darn thing they are going to/will do about it. What I find disturbing is some of the post left in previous threads on the subject....anywhere from...."oh....parts break so just get it fixed"....to the really lame one of..."Oh, there aren't that many of them going bad so what is everyone complaining about".....

You can count on me Let us know please
Makes me sick thinking that mine will have to be replaced in the future because it has a slight wobble now. Really disappointing

Just bought a 2005 C6 yesterday. It's in the shop today for the HB wobble issue. Luckily the used car dealer i purchased it from is offering to cover 50% of the parts/labor!

Well that doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. Good to hear that there are some reputable pre-owned dealers out there.
