I changed the battery on my C-6 and broke one of the battery terminals. It's a weird clamp and looks like it was engineered to fail, over tighten it just a little bit and the cast pewter link on the cable clamp will break. Went to the local chevy dealer and he said he has trouble keeping the cables in stock so many of them break. Finally went to GM Part on the forum and purchased a replacement cable for one third the dealer cost.

I agree with previous posts about simply replacing with OEM AC-Delco. I screwed around with the Optimas in my C5 and ended up taking a couple of them back.
When I replaced the battery in my 2006 C6, I went stock and have never had a problem. But then again, my car is a DD.

I just replaced my Red Top Opima, overall I was very happy. It lasted about 3 years and around 80,000 miles. We will see how the new one goes, I have heard that the new Red Tops are made a little different.
As you can see 2005, 2008 and 2009 use the same trays. 2006 and 2007 models use a different tray. 2005 cars use batteries with the postive post on passenger side of the battery. 2006-2009 cars use batteries with the positive post on the driver side of the battery (also called "reverse" post).
Battery Sizes, in millimeters, as listed from AC Delco and Odyssey:
Obviously, Utah doesn't have any CostCo's. If you did, you'd find 100 month/36 month free replacement, 800 amp batteries for $59 all day long.
Oh yeah, for C6, it's group 12 and item # 12873.
For Z06/ZR1, it's item # 12850
The difference is the Z cars have a vented battery.
I have seen the Fitment 12 battery at Costco in the past, and would certainly recommend it but 12 has not been available in our Costco for a couple of years. That and liquor are the two things that I wish Costco carried in Utah!
I found the above battery from Advanced auto for $109 plus 15% off and another $35 off by using big35 as check out code thanks to another members suggestion. $87 picked up. To make it an even sweeter deal they install it for free and if you spend $100 so basically another $14 you get a $50 gift card towards a future purchase of $100 or more. This happens to be the best deal ever!!!
Has anybody had to reset their TPMS after a battery swap?

Mine showed 0 psi on both front tires and the left rear after I changed my battery. The right rear showed 30 psi. I took it for a short ride and they all came back on line and showed the proper 30 psi.
It might just be a case where they needed to re-communicate after the new battery was installed.

My C6 battery is still new but I put a Sears Die Hard in my old C5. Never an issue in over 8 years. I drove it mostly on weekends & she fired up with no problems. Will do the same on my GS when it's needed.

I just had the headlight recall done and when I got home and turned off the car, the right side mirror kept loudly cliccking, trying to adjust.
Here's what I did and it worked.
turn on the car or accessory power, reset the seats and the mirrors, band then press the button on the door for #1 FOB, turn off car or accessory power, restart car and the mirrors should be OK. I assume you reindexed windows too?
