Seems like they went out of their way to shiet on the vette.. it was an old 2005 episode.. i thought it was a little harsh although they humilliated the BMW X3...
They already used a Z06 and a ZR1. Z06 was praised for doing 0-160ish in 5th gear (only 5th gear) but was slammed for off the road manners. ZR1 was praised for its performance but lack of quality and you had to be "bonkers" to own one. However on the UK version it did destroy an Audi R8 V10 on the track. All 3 times Jeremy complained about the rear bumper being "flimsy". They also have the LS3 powered blender and LS3 powered rocking chair. They also have a C6 chasing I think a Focus inside a mall. I don't think they dislike the Corvette. It just isn't available in right hand drive and is around $80k in the UK to start. Plus as Jeremy said driving a Corvette in Britain is like showing up to the Queen's palace wearing chaps (which I wouldn't be surprised if he did that).
Are we having this conversation again? Its all about the show folks. Bashing the Corvette makes for good laughs in merry old England. Seems to me that I've read that Jeremy actually bought a ZR1.

Pay attention to what he said at the end...that the Vette was, ultimately, a lot of fun...'nuff said. And he does have a point about the leaf springs. Also remember that these guys have driven every great car on the planet so they are going to be a little jaded
If the only episodes of Top Gear you watch are the ones with Corvettes, you might think they don't like them. I've watched every episode that's available, so I consider myself to have a good read on their opinions. They find faults with every car. They do not always find a reason to like every car. They do like the Corvette, because the bottom line is that it's big fun to drive, and that's what matters most.
Clarkson loves Aston Martin, and if you were to compare the build quality and especially the interior bits between an AM and the Corvette, the Chevy will come up short. However, few people (except Porsche salesmen) will argue that there is no better "bang for the buck" in performance than the Corvette.
If you saw the episode where the gang went to Florida and drove $500 cars across the south, it's obvious that the English really enjoy making fun of Americans. We're all fat rednecks with no class and very little appreciation of fine European automobiles. Which is true... but we don't need three pompous English twits reminding us of that.
The radio and gearbox in the ZR1 is superb, but in the Z06 their crap, he says. Hmmm...
With all of the C6 rear leaf spring suspension talk, you would think it has the same rear setup as my Silverado. It's the same as the other two cars, but yet no mention of it there.
It does seem to me in all three reviews that they like everyone one of them. Oh yeah, there was no mention that the C6 actually got a better time than the Ferrari 575

Jeremy is an entertainer playing to a largely Euro crowd...flogging the Colonies is great sport. He does, however, seem to delight in taking a p!ss on the Corvette.
How did an Acura NSX beat a Corvette in the C6 video? Hammond said something about all the cars in the race had roughly the same power. The Corvette had 400, the most the NSX ever had was 290. In the video, the NSX jumps off the line and is ahead of all the cars for a few moments. I wouldn't have expected that with 224 lb-ft even if it only weighs 2800 lbs.
