Actually it's a 428 but GM Advertizing preferred to use the 427 number since the 428 was associated with Ford. Instead of the usual rounding up to 428 GM decided to round down to 427.

Although not a Vette engine you can add to your LSX list the LS4. It's a 5.3 L some like to call it a 327. I have it in my Monte Carlo SS.
