So, I settled, but not by much! My GS Coupe is equipped with the same options that I would have wanted in the convertible....including the color! Besides...I can still enjoy open air driving and not worry if I can make the next car payment or not!

I wanted a white GS coupe but my wife wanted a triple black GS Vert. Hmmmmm...

Had to search all over the country for a 2011 because she didn't like Carbon Flash and found an exact match in Idaho. What was funny is they had TWO exactly the same with everything she wanted
Kerbeck, Boardwalk, Milby, Sanford, Hendricks didn't have any. Tried CA, WI and TX too, but a dealership in IDAHO was HOARDING

Seeing your car gives me the coulda, woulda, shoulda, but the wife is crazy happy.

Thanks to this forum and other research, I had a clear idea of what I wanted -- a base model with MN6. I just always associated "real" sports cars with mimimalism -- with a focus on engine and drive train. The GS really did not appeal to me, nor the wide body. I had about 50 years to think about it, so there was not a lot of debate about the trim level. I was a bit undecided on color, however. I regret that Monterey Red was not a color option on the 2010 models, because that to me was the absolute best color in the past 20 years. When I bought my car at Criswell (Gaithersburg MD) it was pouring rain, but D-Day had arrived and for me there was no turning back due to some rain. Criswell had a great selection of every available color, and while crystal red was tempting, I just loved the look of cyber gray. I had seen it on other visits in the sun, and figured that any color that looked that great in both rain and sun was the right color for me. I love orange, but was not sure I could live with atomic orange for the long haul, and I felt that CG highlighted the design and lines of the car. I did give a few moments thought to an automatic transmission, worrying that at some point I might get something like arthritis in my hip which might preclude using a clutch, but at this point in my life I am still very healthy and active (for which I am very thankful) and decided I could not base the decision on a "what if." Hell if that happens I'll just trade it in on an automatic if I make it to 70!

I always love every car I get. There are times where I "Wish" that my car had something, but I've never "Settled" for something less than what I wanted. Then again, I'm actually fairly simple when it comes to cars. As long as the car is brand new (or very well taken care of like my Vette), then I'll get what I want on my list (which is usually fairly short) and anything above that is icing on the cake!

My Vette is an '07 1LT (only real option I know of is the dual roof, has the 6speed auto, white exterior, black interior). Sure, it's not "fully loaded", but I cleaned it up, added a Pioneer to it (love it!), and slowly add my own new things to it. The dual roof was all I "Needed", so I didn't settle. Now, do I wish I could have gotten an '08+ with the 3LT and something else (I'm just naming a year and trim I hear a lot)? Sure! But, then I go out in the garage and just look at my Vette and the permagrin returns!

It may not be the same for everyone, but I've found that if I keep my car "Needs" to a minimum and let everything else be icing on the cake, it really does prevent any sort of "Settling" or not being perfectly happy. There's a difference between saying "Yea, that would be cool to have" and "I wish my car had that"

Had to laugh, because in my case my daily is a VW Beetle Diesel (56 MPG highway). I see the good in nearly everyone’s car ....comes with being a hippie Vee Dub owner

I tell everyone my Vette is my mistress, but my bug is my love.

On topic...my regret is buying a black car...I knew when I bought it that it would be hard to keep clean. Things I had to have:
1. Convertible
1a. Red interior
1b. 6Sp
2. Low miles (I purchased used)
3. Any color as long as it had the above.....wish I would have held out for Sliver, Gray, Red, or White.

But all that said, I love my Vette and the Vette Community....that wave thingy is too cool! LOL

Murrells Inlet. Oh my what good wonderful memories I have of the SeaSider Restaurant there in Murrells Inlet. Anytime I am in Myrtle I have to hit the Sea Sider. That is the restaurant with the huge anchor in front isn't it?
Thanks for reminding me.

My 06 was loaded. I have a 1 lt now I'm just as happy as I was with the 06. I'm glad I don't have the problems with the mag ride control etc. I live in the desert and don't need the heated seats the navi unit sucked. Verts.have issues. There not too safe in an accident, and easily broken into. Enjoy what u could afford!

Sometimes I regret getting a black Vette due to scratches, dust, swirl marks etc.
But now that I have a porter cable polisher, I should be able to keep it looking nice.

We were in the Chevy dealership buying my new wife her very first new truck, a brand new '08 Silverado. She saw me eyeing a new '08 JSB Z06 on the showroom floor.
First time I had seen a JSB in person, she suggested we get it too.
Not wanting to part with that kind of cash at the time, I said let's wait a bit.
Glad we did, because GM offered "Employee pricing" on the Vette for the first time a few months later, and I drove that beauty home with ZERO regrets!
The ZR1 was launched a few weeks later, but I am an N/A guy anyway.

I've been telling myself that for years guys...don't make me wake up and smell the Supercharger.
