We are fortunate to have now what we want, after trying several different Corvettes. Had a C5 Z06, a C5 convertible, and a 2006 A6 Coupe.

Now I have a new GS Coupe IO with manual transmission and my wife drives a new GS Coupe CG with A6 transmission. We're both happy.

I would have kept the 2003 Z06 if we had the garage space, but three Corvettes was too much hassle along with our two daily drivers.

There are no torque converters either........

When I traded the disaster of an '09 for the '11, I had 3 C6's I was looking at. I went with the one that the selling dealer made the best deal on.

My one regret: that I didn't buy a Vette years sooner!

She wouldn't want to drive a stick anyway, so it's a mute point.

I did make things better with this automatic transmission though .. I had Chuck CoW do a tune, and this tranny now shifts like it should have from the factory.

And I believe this car is every bit as fast right now as an M6 GS. Hell, in the 1/4 mile, it may now outrun an M6 ... who knows.

I am no 'shill' for Chuck CoW, but I can tell you that my 2011 GS runs and shifts so much stonger ...

But Ron, you may have voided your warranty! ... At this point, I really don't care. The car runs and shifts so much better than when stock, I will take my chances!

Ron,

Thank you RON! And we ain't even done yet! I'll be in Florida Wednesday late afternoon.

If you like my tune so far....JUST WAIT TILL YOU DRIVE THE CoW BOOSTER!

I'm thankful for my 1LT base model, aka Poverty Package, and my only regret is that it wasn't a 2LT GS, but Ally Bank just wouldn't do the GS. The next time I can plausibly estimate a lot more income on the credit app, a Z is coming right up.

So long as you can live with two seats, there's nothing not to like about a base Vette, and it only gets better from there.

I had to drive 3000 miles to get mine, but it's exactly what I wanted. 4LT, JSB, GS, the only thing it's missing that I don't plan to add is the F55... but it definitely needs a clear top! This solid top business is not working for me.

It took me 40yrs from my first Vette ride to get one (had 2 kids to raise). So when I retired this past April I ordered it exactly the way I wanted so there would be no regrets.
