Wondering if there is anyone else out there that might be interested in taking a 2 or 3 day course at Bondurant some time in February of 2012. I went to Spring Mtn. last year with the freebie course for 3 days and it was great. I am thinking that it would be fun to try Bondurant this winter. If we can get a Corvette Forum group together maybe they would offer a preferred rate for us. They might even custom tailor a course for us. I am particularly interested in getting the launch control demo in the corvette. Spring Mountain was great but they would not allow us to use the launch control. It was recently shared on another thread by Torchsport that Bondurant actually demonstrates and teaches the launch control technique.

I'm interested if your paying....LOL....J/K
For real though, I wish I could do this one as well because I did the Spring Mountain last in Aug. and it was a blast.
Hope you find a few people wanting to go...maybe you can get a group discount.
How much do think it would cost? I have never taken a course and would like to someday.Although I know how to drive a stick, I bet the professionals would teach me a thing or two more.
Price? How many days? What sort of tailoring are you thinking? How would it differ from their standard Z06 courses?
I am tentatively planning on the two-day Z06 course, but if you can get the tuition under $2,000 on your group deal I might be willing to change plans.

2 day ZR1 class is approximately $3500ish.
If you go into my friends list in my profile, they are listed there. Maybe PM, and ask about a possible discount.
I just PM'd Cameron at Bondurant requesting some sort of special package for forum members that would all agree to attend on the same class date in Feb. Hopefully he will respond on this thread so we can all view anything special that they might be able to offer us.

I just attended my 3-day ZR1 class at SM about a month ago. Wish I could go back one day a week forever...!
Anyone thinking of doing a high-performance driving school who has not already done so, absolutely pull-out the stops to attend. It's a thrill of a lifetime !
Just received a nice PM from Cameron that I am sure he won't mind me posting here. It does make sense that Feb. is a busy time for the school in Arizona. But, maybe they can come up with a little something for us. Thanks Cameron.
Hey Pat!
This is awesome! I don't have the say-so in giving deals so I immediately passed your question on within 10 minutes yesterday. I'm waiting for a reply for you and will notify you and reply to the post ASAP. Because Feburary is our prime busy season, I don't see it being a HUGE discount, but we'll see what we come up with. Thank you!
Cameron

I have been to Bondurant twice a one day and a three day course. The instructors encourage you to drive as hard as you feel safe.
After SEMA 2010 I drove by Spring Mountain and was taken up into the observation tower. My observation was a group of Corvettes doing heel toe downshifts but not going fast enough to need heel toe. At Bondurant we did a 3-2 downshift. I had to hang back in order to be reving 3rd hard when I approached the U turn around a pile of tires.
When you get on track you can follow as closely as you like. A mirror full of 14 never seemed to move anyone out of my way.
Investing in the driver will make your car faster than investing in more hp.
I am going again for a special two day course.

You can! Why not find a road course venue with NASA, SCCA, etc. near where you live? Continue to apply and refine what you learned at SM and have a blast in the process. Professional instruction at SM or Bondurant is invaluable and a weekend course is great but to become a really proficient driver takes regular practice. Obviously, the level of instruction is not as intensive but you'll even find some very talented instructors with NASA and SCCA. The Corvette is a capable and durable car. Starting out there really isn't anything 'special' you need do to your car. Drive with common sense and it's more than reasonably safe. If you enjoyed your 3-day experience at Spring Mountain keep letting the good times roll!
Okay so upon talking to Chris Loftus, the group sales manager, he said that he has been in contact with Pat and they are trying to iron out some details on the matter. Price and curriculum is going to depend on how many people would want to come out and participate, which can all be custom tailored.
I assume Pat will, as I will, follow up here and let you know when they have figured out a proposal for the course!
