What are some rules or hints I should follow to keep my 2006 3lt in good running shape and looking good. Was given just a week ago from my dad, so it's all new especially from driving a 04 Toyota corolla for the past 6 years!
Welcome to the Forum!!!! Congratulations on your C6!! Nice dad too!
If you have an Owner's Manual, read it. If not you can get one on-line, just search or ask here.
Follow the maintenance schedule, change the oil when the Oil Life Monitor tells you it's time, or once a year if you don't put many miles on it. Most of us flush and change the brake fluid every 2 years, coolant every 5 years. If you don't know the history of the car it's probably a good idea to do all of that now and maybe include a new battery too. That way you start with a known quantity.
Others will chime in with suggestions. Have fun with the car, enjoy the Forums.
First thing I would do is go buy some Zaino and wash and wax that thing right away. Also you should post a picture of your new ride so we can all comment on it.
You will get a lot of great advice but I would suggest you start looking in the search area and just peruse the site - you will find tons of info here....
Take it easy, you have a great deal of power available to you. You will learn your car as you go. If you have any clubs in your area, talk to them, you will find them to be extremely helpful.
Enjoy the ride and remember to wave (whenever you see another Corvette).
Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll get on brake fluid and the coolant this weekend. Yeah lucky me haha as soon as I got it I had to put two new tires on the back cost a cool $900! I'll be sure to look on here for tires next time. Can't complain really though, drives like a dream. It has 20,000 miles on it if that helps at all. And I downloaded a PDF of the manual just need to start crackin at it. Thanks again. How do I know what kind of top it is? T-top or targa?

Well if it is an 82 or older, it has t tops. Otherwise, it's a good bet you have a targa top!!
Depending on location if it is cold be careful, if the tires are cold you will slide so take it easy and get used to the power. I bought mine last yeat in December NJ with the original F1 tires and you really need to know the car to keep it on the ground, congrats you will love it

It's a little bit of a pain in the ars on an iPad. Upload the pictures to photobucket (might need the app), the copy and paste the ing code on the thread. Much easier from a laptop or desktop.
