Seriously, I traded my 2010 GS on a 2011 GS in July, then on a 2012 GS in Sept, then on 2012 Z06 in Dec. Yeah, I've got it bad.
And maybe a little too much money? I just could not resist, just kidding.

A target market is a group of customers. It can be any group, by any metric. GM decides that they want to make a special effort to keep, or get for the first time, this group.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. It seems so unnecessary and pointless. Of course your post is a good and informative one with legitimate questions many will benefit from. If this was not an appropriate venue I can't imagine what would be.

I own a 2009 C6 as well as a 2009 Pontiac...both purchased new by me...and I was stunned to find out from Chevrolet Customer Service that I'm not on the list.

Objective achieved!

I support your right to comment however you see fit but the OP's question seems like an honest, legitimate subject to me. I was interested to learn how GM might target certain clientele for a discount.

The best answer yet! GM has their own proprietory criteria for profiling and discriminating against certain people in favor of others.

OK...because I keep getting bashed in this thread let me explain. I should have typed "Title" of the thread and not "Subject". I'm sure this is a very valid "Subject", but the "Title" is 100% useless when it comes to what the thread is about.

I will admit...I was sucked in by this vague "Title" and usually don't bother to even enter threads that have this type of vagueness. I mean..for real...a Title of "Can someone explain?"....could mean ANYTHING and I guess that is why I got sucked in.

I can explain. The title of this thread is also the title of a 1950 song by the Ames Brothers.

Ask a silly question .....

I've asked and can't find out from dealer or anybody else at GM. It must be in the marketing division.

I was just getting ready to "bash" you for your orginal comment, thanks for expanding. The title is vague but still we did not need the harness of your comment.
