I apologize for bringing up this old topic, but I'm a new member here. I don't know if it's a generational thing or not, but I don't personally know anyone in my age group (31-40) that has a stick. Everyone in my age group drives an auto and living in Houston sucks with daily driving on the freeways. My next vehicle will not be my daily driver though.

Owned both..Both are great...Do not under estimate either..Both serve a different purpose..
Do not judge your manlyhood by the transmission you choose..If you do you have issues with it.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't want my hand all over some shaft... I'd rather have it on my GF. Stick drivers should name their cars frank.

The gf isn't always there and plus gives me a good excuse to not let her drive it cause she can't drive a "standard "

I have a 2009 z51 a6 that is devilishly fast from the git go. Drove a ZR1 the other day and fell in love all over again with shifting gears as part of driving! Both have their moments, but given the choice again for here in NC I'd take a stick

I race my vette at the strip so its an auto with a converter beats a manual, stick and the standard every time.

I like rowing the gears, always have. I prefer the manual. If I was a drag racer, I'd go automatic for consistency.

Most posters on this forum have answered this question at least once (probably more).
Does the search function not exist?

automatic advantages..(1) easy for traffic (2) consistent 1/4 mile (3) may be best choice for physically challenged. Downside...boooooring!

I agree. Nothing wrong with the auto if thats what you want but once you drive one of these cars with a manual you will want one.

Strange how some men actually define their own manhood by the transmission they have.
Also strange how another man can define what is fun for another man...
