For those who don't want to use aftermarket head units, or hack into the factory nav, someone posted about a small screen that folds down just above their right knee. I think there were two cameras and a front-rear switch.

I believe the new Ford Mustangs have them in their rearview mirror which would be ideal for me because I don't have factory navigation nor do I want it but I know I do need some type of monitor for front and rear cams.

I think back up cameras are mandatory in all vehicles starting in 2014.

It will become federal law for all new cars to come equipped with rear cameras.

Are these good products or the same?

I checked out these products... I wouldnt go with them The Pyle camera on top is larger than you think. To install it, you would have to have a LARGE hole drilled into the body of your car to have it mounted. I'm pretty sure thats not gonna happen. Since it seems like some of the other memebers don't want to have an additional screen installed, check out the product below... it has a new rearview mirror that mounts on top of your exixting mirror. The screen is in the new mirror. The camera is tag mounted and the reciever goes in the rear compartment. It might make for a nice alternative. I would check it out. At that price, it defianately can't hurt right?

My daughter's Honda SUV has it in the rearview mirror too, a perfect place since most of the time you are looking in that mirror anyway. My DD has it in the navigation screen so not only am I looking into the 2 outside mirrors (proximity to my house) and the inside rearview mirror but now I'm looking down at the Navi screen too, a real PIA....

Someone posted about using a Camaro mirror with the camera screen. IIRC, it worked well but the installation was a bit more complicated than expected.

The dream set up for me would be a full time rearview screen that would allow me to remove the large, vision blocking center mirror. It easily twists off the base and getting rid of it really improves forward visibility.

I use the lockpick for C6, wasn't plug and play as hoped, when installed it works pretty well

Do you mean there is already connection that will accept video inputs, and just reprogramming with a tech2 will enable it to work?

That would be great, but I've never heard it before on the C6.

Instructions, please??

I would like to know how to do this as well. I can't seem to find anything on using a camera with the factory system without a device to do so.
