Default Trunk space is way underestimated by people.

I'm currently in the middle of a move and everyone told me I wouldn't be able to fit all of my stuff in my c6.

It's a tight fit but in the trunk alone I was able to fit:

1x Garment Bag (completely full).

2x Video Game systems in factory packaging.

1x Military Issue Dufflebag (Full)

1x 37inch flatscreen TV

4x pairs of shoes

1x pairs of boots.

I'm able to fit everything once I start using the passenger seat room. So the car can haul quite a bit it's just not the best for the job. The big test will be when I arrive at my destination and plug everything in and it still works.

Reminds me of the Tom McCahill auto tests for Mechanix Illustrated in the '50's, where his photographer was the trunk tester.

I can personally attest to this , I am on a round about trip bringing my 2013GS home , I have the biggest suitcase allowed on a plane in the back of this thing along with a suitcase that your allowed to take on the aircraft, my briefcase, video camera, nikon camera, and various other items stowed in the back , the lid barely shuts...lol

The true test is how many clowns you can fit in the car.

Here's a pic of my cargo area when I arrived home (CA) from my museum delivery. Duffle bag, 2 carry-on suitcases, 4 or 5 smaller bags, dirty laundry, souvenirs, my Tombstone, AZ hat, and more. When loaded, I flip my rear-end protector over everything, which protects it from direct sunlight. One secret is you can pile things higher in the middle where the window curves up.

The trunk is great. My C3 and C4 could never handle my golf clubs and bags. Lots of storage. I laugh when I see Porche owners put their golf clubs in the passenger seat.

People are amazed when they first see me loading in two sets of golf clubs in cart bags with ease.

Are you moving locally or out of the area? I see you list Hurlburt Field in your location - USAF?

The C6 convertible trunk holds quite a bit of stuff as well. I could have used a trunk on a move from Phoenix, AZ to Fairbanks, AK with my C4 convertible. I had my small duffle, my wife's duffle, some tools and spare parts, and a soft side suitcase packed in it.

Mine has been similarily filled as well on various road trips. My wife and I are doing a Corvette Museum sponsored trip in September that will include the "tail of the dragon" and touring the Biltmore estates. That will take us about 7 days and 3,000 miles. I am not concerned at all about space-unless she buys a lot of wine, etc. along the way. I really hope the C7 doesn't change significantly in this area. The C5 to C6 convert trunk lost some depth and I don't want that to happen to the coupes this time.

I've always wondered if that photographer ever got out of that MGA?

I think I win in this case...

I moved from NY to Florida. Sold my furniture and packed EVERYTHING I own in my corvette. Used the trunk and passenger seat, the car was full to the brim. I bought several boxes that maximized storage space and kept everything tight so it didn't shift.

I'm about to do the same in a few months when I move from NY to NC...

When I was a child, my sister and I both rode in the hatch area of my Dad's '74 Stingray.

The most I've ever packed in my '07 C6 is 2 hard case carry on bags, 3 soft bags, 1 duffel bag and an emergency car kit including a jumpbox. I did just just last winter when my girlfriend and I headed down to Florida for 8 days. We spent 1 night in Orlando, 2 nights in Key West and 4 nights in Miami. And we both had more than enough clothing and items for week long Florida trip.

Most i ever had in the car was 4 rims still in the boxes. Had two in the hatch and two in the front on the way to the tire shop to get them put on.

I'd draw the line somewhere but I agree the cargo area is larger than some people think. I'm a believer you can cram all sorts of stuff into a small space with a little organization.
