Default Big crash Chevrolet Corvette C6R GT1

Last racing weekend at Zandvoort (Netherlands), one of the few remaining GT1 Corvettes (chassis number 6 I think) crashed hard in the rain. He spun on standing water under braking , smashing into a stationary Dodge Viper. What a mess! Luckily both drivers got out unhurt. The Corvette is being repaired as we speak.

Here are some HD pictures!

Some facts about the race: The stationary Viper overshot his braking point due to huge amount of water on the track. He was leading the race on intermediate tires. The Corvette of Rick Abresch was 2nd in the race on full wets. Guess both tires couldn't handle this amount of water.

Definitedly not the preferred line. It's always sad to see nice race cars crash but I'm glad nobody was hurt. The GT1 C6.R is my favorite racing Corvette. These are obviously well-funded teams so I imagine both cars will be 'good as new' in no time.

It's never good when 2 cars try to occupy the same piece of ground.

That car was in 2nd place at the time. That light is used mainly at night so all can know the top 3 positions without seeing the car numbers.

I did not know that. So if the video had continued, we would have seen it increment as everyone went by,

I have never seen the wisdom of racing in that much water.
