The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

The XLR-V is 123hp stronger at 443hp, runs dead nuts even with an LS2 vette in the 1/4 (Raced mine bone stock several times and ran consistant 12.4-12.6 depending on weather at around 112mph), has vastly superior suspension (the same magnetic ride control found in the early vettes), brakes from the Z51 corvette, stiffer swaybars, more aggressive exterior styling and dual-mode exhaust (the fuse to pull is in a hatch in the trunk to keep it open).
I had an XLR-V for my wife as a stable mate to my C6 and I really enjoyed both. The XLR never felt underpowered, even coming from my 600hp vette.
An XLR-V can be found in the high 30s and they're very nice cars. The convertible hardtop gives it unique styling. I got far more compliments in that car than I did my vette. In the two years I owned it I NEVER saw a single other XLR-V until the last week we owned it. I saw a handful of regular XLR's, but they're very rare and turn heads more than a vette will

We ended up trading it for a '12 SRT8 Charger so we'd have a "practical" baby hauler now that she's pregnant with our first. 470/470 is the way to haul a baby around

If you have any questions about the XLR or XLR-V let me know.
One thing about the XLR-V is that I've never seen the difference between what magazines recorded and what reality was vary so much in a car. Magazines had this thing typically in low 13s 1/4 mile and first time out with mine returned mid 12s in high 80 degree weather. They also said highway mpg was 14/21 and we regularly saw 27 on the highway. I'll never understand why the numbers were so skewed in reviews.

My car stickered for right at 100k in 2006 and I bought it in 2010 with 17k miles on it for 39k + TTL with clean carfax and no signs of abuse inside or out.
My Mother has an 09 Designo SL550, and GM can't touch anything on that car when it comes to fit/finish/materials/engineering.
We'll see, but I'm leery..
