(sighs) Called home today. Her aid put her on the phone. Her voice is barely audible. She can only say one or two words. All I could make out was "I love you." I can not cope with this much longer. Dad was the same way. Over 100 +. Visited over a weekend on the way to the rally in Sturgis, SD four years ago. Glad I did. One week later he was gone.

Wow, you have longevity on you side. My parents only made it till their mid 70's. Dad went quick, heart attack, but mom, a few years later...... a priest and my wife by my side on one side of the table and a team of doctors on the other side asking permission to turn off life support. I wouldn't wish making that decision on my worst enemy. That was a couple years ago, and it still gives me nightmares to this day.

May God give you strength and peace in the days ahead.

They both have living wills. No life support ! Dr's are under orders ! No resuscitation if her heart stops or she quits breathing.

I have been there with my parents a few years ago. Know it can weigh on your mind. All you can do is try to be there as much as you can and take care of things. Hang in there.

Trying to. Bad thing is I live 1K miles away. Flew up once. Never again. I'll drive up

Mikey, R&L, I certainly understand the situations you describe. I am there as well. My mother is in hospice care now. My wife of 37 years died last year. But life goes on.

I am looking forward to my first NCM Bash. I need some enjoyment in my life. Corvette activites and folks do that for me.

I'm still going to try and make it. If something happens while I'm there, it's only 6 hrs drive to Chicago. Heh, we go to funerals wearing jeans here in TX, it'll happen there

Randy and Mikey - sorry to hear of your troubles. I can certainly relate on both accounts. I hope things work out in both cases and will be thinking about you guys moving forward.

Deb, watch out now gettin' all wild and crazy in Nasvhille! I'm planning on hanging at Steve's one day/evening for a bit. I think that's just as far as Nashville but I'd love to go hang with y'all. I'll bring my boots!!!! This country girl can always go do some boot scootin'!

Ironically I just purchased a Vette and planned a trip to see my best friend in Nashville, we planned to stop at the Museum on the way down, on the dates of the bash, not knowing it was the Bash? My concern is that I can't just stop in for a visit, do we need to register for anything? Our plan was to stop in on Thursday and then head to Nashville later in the day?

My sympathy goes out to those dealing with the impending and actual death of a parent, I just spent 8 days in the hospital and home hospice by my fathers side while he was passing. As hard as it was it was amazing that all of us had the chance to have heart to heart talks with him before he passed, I will never forget that time with him!

Cherish the memories!

First...sorry to hear about your dad! I know it must be tough. Good though that you had some nice quality time with him at the end.

To the best of my knowledge there is no rule saying you can't do that...you just won't be able to do any of the activities on the roster. For the cost of the ticket tough if your staying more then a couple of hours it really is worth it. You can go to the NCM's website to register (www.corvettemuseum.com). Iam pretty sure anybody can pop in for the day though to say hi to friends. You'll have to pay extra to do other activities such as the NCM museum tour...but you would have to do that anyways if you showed up. I had to to this one year because just like you I could only stay an hour or so then had to jet out.

I'll be there for all day on saturday...already bought my package and am very psyched!

Randy, Add me to the list. Some things changed and looks like I'll be able to make it although I'll probably still have my foot cast on.

Last year there was a very good impromptu get together on Friday Night at the Montanna. Forget who started it but had a lot of members show up. Anything planned for this year?

I made reservations for an estimated 75 people on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm.

I would suggest that you call the Museum and ask if you just stop by on Thursday, would that require registering?

Some people will be arriving during the day on Thursday for the Bash, but some will be arriving Friday or even Saturday.

My wife and I are currently planning to arrive on Thursday. I have a fear that work will somehow mess this up, but for now, we intend the vette road trip from Houston.

Room is set at the Courtyard.
