the dealer will tell you it is within Specificsations. just like the bonnet gaps. besides have you thought about the flag not being level? if one side goes up or down ... the point of flag should center nicely.
I believe that the flags are cut out of the stripes when they are made. It's not something the installer does with GCA stripes. When you put the stripe on, you start with putting the cutout around the flags and go from there.
I think the only thing you can do is trim the side that is too close but that wouldn't be for the faint of heart. You can't move the flags a little or you'll see the body color between the flags on the stripe.
I have GCA full length racing stripes on my car that are very simular to the 60th anniversary stripes and they aren't perfect either.

Reason: added picture
I'm from Rochester too! Webster to be specific. Now in Tampa. Just enjoyed some white hots I froze from Wegmans on my last visit. This week's weather is why I came south.

My brother-in-law who lives up the road from me grew up in Webster and my uncle used to live there. I plan on moving to FL when I retire. (know suprise there, right?) Is it wrong that the main reason I want to move to FL is so I can drive the car year round? Seems like that should not be a huge motivator.
I'm looking at this anniversary edition GS at my local dealer and noticed the stripes are not centered.
They are slightly to the right.
Either that, or the crossed flags are not centered.
(Look at the bottom tip of the flags)
Anyone else seen this before?
It's not a huge deal, but it's already bugging me.
i think it's an optical illusion. If you look at the "V" part of the emblem it is perfectly centered. (not the point of the "v" on the very bottom, but the inside "v", if that makes sense) The flags are built non symmetrical maybe.... As far as the flags, i do recall hearing they have dimples on the back that fit in tiny divots in the bumper so moving the flags wont be possible....

I really like my GCA stripes in pearl white on my z06 but mine didn't come with the pieces surounding the front emblem in the front vent...wish they were included...
Even though it probably doesn't detract from the overall appearance of the car and the average person wouldn't even notice it....things like that bother me as well. I prefer balance and symmetry where things line-up correctly. It's a minor thing but if it's covered under warranty I'd have the dealership make it right.

That might make both the stripes and the emblem off-center. I'd want both centered correctly.
Hey guys...yeah I can see it is the emblem that isnt aligned right. I wouldnt let the dealer touch my car.. instead show the warrenty rep in the service department and get them to order a new badge with a new backing..then use some dental floss and tug it underneath. Since the car is new it should come right up.
That would bug me as well. Whats wrong with it being perfect like it is suppose to be?

how do you know it's the emblem and not the stripe?

I miss Wegmans, Don & Bob's, Rubino's, garbage plates, and Amico's pizza!!!!Don't miss the weather.
close enough , and for sure not bad enough to take to GM service. Just live with , chances are they will probably mess something up if you take it in to the dealer
Just checked my 427 with stripes and it is pretty close but maybe not dead on. I'm a nut for this stuff too, but I don't think I'll get to excited about mine. What bothers me more and this is about the only thing I would change or wish GM would have done differently is the fact that the stripes are tape to start with. I mean, come on, $91K+ sticker and the stripes are tape? The '67 427 hoods weren't tape, they were painted on. I find it funny that Chevy goes to the effort to continue the stripes into and over the convertable top but couldn't find it proper to paint the stripes on. Just a little chinsey and honestly the only thing I don't like about my car. My tape is not perfect in quite a few places where it connects to another panel etc. I just figure this is the nature of the beast and it is a beast. The good far out weighs the bad!
Update! Upon closer inspection, I would say mine are off as much as the OP shows in his picture. I'm guessing this is more the norm than dead on center. Mine is off to the right as much as his is to the left. Oh well! I'm not sending it back. :o)

The dealer installed the stripes when I bought the car. I am not sure they are correct for the GS because I have never seen another with the area around the flags completely filled in either. I think they may have used a set for a coupe and just made them fit. The gap (in the stripe) between the front piece and the hood is kinda wide. Also the width between the stripes gets a little wider about 6 inches below the flags. Regardless, I think they did a great job installing the stripes and I am really happy with them. They make it easy to tell my car from the other IOM 2012 GS running around town. It has the GS strips on the fenders
