I just bought another one at Advance Auto Parts for $11.99.
They had to order it for me and had it the next day.

On the GS the filter is located on the passenger's side firewall near the dry sump oil tank. There are three wire clips that you lift up to release the door that covers the filter. Once you release the three clips the cover will tilt down and can be removed. The filter is visible once the door is removed. Here are a couple pictures showing the filter door and a close up of the wire clips you lift up to release the door

My car came from Florida, and the cabin filter looked just as bad as the one in the photo.

You can use a couple of dowels or rulers to apply pressure at the rear edge of the filter, so it is pulled into the slot rather than pushed, to prevent kinking.

Yup, that's a dead mouse. More info & pics at: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...h-you-pic.html

...Also, be sure to orient the filter with the airflow in the correct direction. IIRC, the airflow is top to bottom through the filter, so it needs to be installed with the airflow arrow pointing down.

I thought the feather was bad enough, then I saw that mouse....

I'll check my filter tomorrow, too.

I love the video. At the end I'll remember to 'close the hood'....

Seriously, though. Youtube is great for just about everything.

On my dry sump z06 2012 i release the oil line next to the door to get a straight shoot at replacing filter so as not to bend the carbon filter. what I use part # ACDelco CF131C dealer part # 15861929

Picked up the Purolator tonight at Advance on the way home from work, $11.99.

I'll toss it in there in the morning. Might be up all night hoping there is no mouse or wombat up in the old one!

PS--- No mouse, but that old one was dirty....

Thanks for the thread. I'm learning my way around my new car!
