Knock Knock?? Who's there? A New 60th Ani 427 'vert!!
I have a little over 300 miles on my 427 'vert and this AM after washing and a short spin dry I started hearing a pretty loud knocking noise around 2500RPM. At first I thought it was the car passing me on the left.... oil pressure is down to 15PSI max at idle and the fill level is normal..... the knocking is almost undetectable at idle... but from 1500RPM up it gets pretty noisey. I was close to home so I eased the car home and will call my favorite service dept. in the morning and arrange for them to transport the car. First C5-C6 I have had and drivetrain issues with... hope it isn't another of the LS7 issues folks seem to have been dealing with. I thought all of these issues were fixed after the 2009 model year. Stay tuned!!!

Reason: UPDATE!
I was going to say it could be bad gas (and it still could) but oil pressure 15 at idle is on the low side. At least you got warranty. Good luck with it.
Low oil pressure and engine knock are not listed in my good column. Oil pump sounds iffy and it may have messed up a few things. Hopefully your warranty will cover your butt.

Thanks for your concern... it will be covered under warranty....only 357 miles on the car.... I had an awesome experience with the ramp truck operator that took us to the dealer this morning.... super careful, not a scratch, scuff, didn't even get close to dragging the chin spoiler!!! Thanks, Jeremy @ Genes Towing in Tacoma!!!!! Funny thing, at first when the oil was cold and pressure 50-60 lbs no knocking noise. I took the shop foreman/manager out for a drive to warm things up.... we barely got out of the parking lot and had to pull back into their second driveway (about 150') when the noise started again!!! I asked him, "Is that good enough for you?" he said, "yep, let's get this thing into the shop". I over heard him tell the service writer he thought lifter or bearing.... So I am waiting now for the real diagnosis.....
I had the EXACT same thing happen to me at 4000 mi.
Oil pump relief valve was stuck open.
They replaced the pump, and worked out well.
HOWEVER they remove the front crossmember to do this work, make sure your front alignment is good.

Seems like a common problem.
LS7 Dry Sump??? Good info to have... I am going to pass that on to the shop.

You are not going to hear a stuck oil pressure relief valve. You ARE going to hear the damage caused by the lack of oil pressure.
I had an 01 with 20k on it +- that made the same noise you described in the same way you describe it.Turns out it was this thing.. I forget what it's called but there's a little roller looking thing up top there.Yes,I've had the piece for a good 8 years or so!!Why,I have no idea!!

There's a good possibility that i could have damaged a lifter or worse when the oil pressure dropped. I fact I am not expecting this to be something as simple as just replacing the oil pump due to a defective/stuck pressure relief valve.... although, I never completely lost oil pressure, at least there was no indication... didn't get a CEL...
So much for my Wixom performance center hand built engine!!! I'm gonna pop into the dealer/srvice dept and look at the placard and see who put it together... i'll send them a christmas card!!!!
If it turns out to be a bad motor don't replace it. Insist on the Dealer contacting the zone office and demand a replacement car period! This is done all the time. Many 427s still in Dealers inventories for GM to get you another. Screw that.
