I would concur that the number of Corvette owners that even know about the "wave" are in the minority.

Had someone honk at me the other day and they waved. I did not even see him until he honked. I waved back of course.

I'm 28, bought my first corvette at 24. I always wave. Generally get a wave back.

About 2 weeks ago, I had the Z out, and had an older guy pull up behind me at a light. Yellow Z surprisingly enough. I gave a wave and he clearly got excited that I waved and was giving me thumbs up along with the wave.

I wave at every corvette I see but I've come to realize that a lot of people have no idea what I'm doing. I imagine the conversation in their cars are like "Do we know him?". "No I don't think so.". "Don't make eye contact and pretend we didn't see him.".

I tend to get a much larger response from people without Corvettes at red lights, gas stations etc.

The wave is all but dead. Back in the 90's it was rare to drive by another vette without the wave. Now it's rare to receive a wave. To each their own.
