I have the "Corvette Racing" floor mats with a small Jake and a 3" jake vinyl cutout on the butt. I like it and that's what counts. All easily removable as are all my mods.
I think many don't realize what Jake represents to the Corvette Racing community. I know the history of Jake link was posted in one of the first replies.
You either like Jake and what it stands for or you don't. It is funny how a simply images can cause so much controversy, yet I have seem post of hood liners and FRC covered with skulls and know one ever seems to put it down. I for one have never seen what is so great with adoring your engine bay or any other place with a mass of skulls overlapping each other, but then again it is not my car and if the owner likes that kind of stuff then have at it. Same should go for those that like Jake and support the Corvette Racing team. I don't care if they have a small Jake on the exhaust enhancer plate or on the rear or B pillars or what it is their care and they can do as they please. Beside Jake is a registered trademark of GM, just like the Chevy bowtie.

What's the appeal of this cartoonish emblem?
Why don't you ask Wolf Dogs, since he has a jake skull on his front and rear emblems? They look pretty cool to me.
You apparently at the point in life where the word "fun" does not exist......and if someone else is having "fun" by putting a "cheesy" emblem on their corvette (because, oh forbid, they want to), you feel it necessary to criticize their "juvenile" behavior.
Since I represent one of those being accused of "juvenile" behavior, I will thank you for the compliment....I usually do take life way to serious.

I'm not dissing peiple who have Jake's. I'm not dissing Jake, and I'm most certainly not ripping on Corvette racing. I was simply wondering what the appeal was in regards to such a cartoonish looking emblem that some people plaster all over their $60, 000 car. As stated several times, I think the Jake skull can be tastefully done, it just seems like plenty of people lack the aforementioned taste and compensate with a sheer volume of Jake.

I put a Jake on the back. Because I like the racing heritage of the C6R... But that's it, just one on the big booty of the car. It's vinyl, it'll come off if I ever want it to.
To each their own, but I like it.
And who cares? There are a thousand gaudy and tacky mods for this car. If you don't like it, don't get it for yours. Haters gonna hate.
I have a jake decal on the base of my rear hatch window very indiscreet and not tacky IMO

It just bites my a*s when some idiot on this forum takes a unsolicited shot at fellow forum members. I have no issue when someone says they don't like something, because everyone has an opinion as to what's cool or not.
However, when you start characterizing something as "juvenile" (which is obviously is taking a personal swipe at other individuals), it has crossed a fairly clear "line in the sand".
There are plenty of posts on the that I don't necessarily agree with, but I know that goes both ways. Again, the way a person communicates their disagreement is as important (or more important) than the topic being discussed.
All of the disagreeing is fine, but the way someone expresses their disagreement
