I don't understand the fascination with Jake skulls. What's the deal? In my view they're quite juvenile and something I'd expect to see on a turbocharged Cavalier Z34, but out of place in, on, and around the Corvette.
What's the appeal of this cartoonish emblem?

It's associated with corvette racing. Definitely didn't come from a fast and furious cavalier. Fortunately for you, you don't have to stick one on your 'Vette if you don't like it.

I'm well aware of its associations with Corvette racing. I just fail to see it in correlation with "badass." Perhaps I'm the only one who sees it as ridiculous, but i always get a chuckle out of guys who hate exhaust enhancement plates, but it's a Jake-fest all over their ride. Oh well. Just one man's opinion.

I'm not a big fan of the Jake stuff either. But I have to respect the marketing genius of it. It sells a whole lot of merchandise.

I agree with not molesting my cars with stickers... Only Jake on my car (that I am aware of) is the one that is factory molded into the top of the plastic intake shroud/snout.
Having bought the car used, and knowing nothing about 'Jake', I initially thought the first owner added an aftermarket intake snout... lol

A perfectly fine usage. Jake chiclets in conjunction with floor mats, headrests, halo vinyl, cargo cover, center caps, underhood liner, and vinyl rear window decal is just... overkill. No.
Saw a pic of a car with a Jake silhouette on a single taillight. That's tastefully done. Just seems like so many make a lifestyle decision when deciding on a Jake accessory. It's all or nothing, and I just don't get it.

I put a Jake on the back. Because I like the racing heritage of the C6R... But that's it, just one on the big booty of the car. It's vinyl, it'll come off if I ever want it to.
To each their own, but I like it.
And who cares? There are a thousand gaudy and tacky mods for this car. If you don't like it, don't get it for yours. Haters gonna hate.
