Oops, I meant the original owner of my car, not the OP of the thread. I just hate seeing so many Vette owners accept GM's lame excuse that severe battery drain is normal and should be masked with a battery tender instead of admitting there's a problem with some cars that they should fix. My experience proves that's the case.

Just another data point about battery drain-
Our 2009 has sat for up to three weeks with no tender, and started normally.
Our 2006 was the same.
It does seem there is a lot of variation from one car to another about passive drain, I suspect there is a GM spec for max drain and anything more than that should be chased down and corrected.

Just personal opinion here, but I don't hear of those owners who drive the car often or daily ever having this problem. It seems those cars that get driven only on weekends or less end up draining the battery. Maybe I've just been lucky for 114K miles and 6 years.

My car has gone two weeks without starting while I was out of town, and I didn't have any problems. If your car can't sit for a few days without running the battery down, then there is a problem somewhere.

Some friends bought a Cadillac XLR a few years ago, the battery would go dead in less than a week. Two different dealers worked on it and could not fix the problem. GM finally bought the car back from them and gave 'em a new XLR which has been perfect.
IIRC, just after their buy back, a TSB came out which explained how to find and fix their problem. But they already had a new car by then, and didn't much care.

Well my 2008 had the dreaded DBS and my 2013 GS sport did also. The only thing they have in common is the M2W remote. On the GS after the battery rolled over on me I changed to the newer install which isn't supposed to drain the battery. An engineer from Chevy that I met at Carlisle said they found the old install kept the bcm on all the time hence the drain... we'll see if its true after the car sits for a week or so...
