Wait a minute..it took you to 110mph to beat a 1995 Grand AM? How did that happen? You should have been 10 car lengths away within the first few seconds. In any case, that guy is telling awesome stories about how a Corvette beat him and how he hung on till the very last minute. He's giving shift-by-shift accounts of the whole ordeal to his is family and friends. You made his day.

Well like i said I wasn't really racing. I scooted past him pretty fast and then just kind of slowly accelerated away. I kind of hope he is bragging. Poor guy drives a Pontiac. He probably needs a ray of sunshine in his life.
YOU SHOULD HAVE PASSED HIM PULLED TO THE SHOULDER AND PASSED HIM 10 MORE TIMES giving him the thumbs down and jerk off sign the wave the finger something different each pass

I'm not sure about the '95 but both my '97 and '04 with the 6 cylinder engines went well past 135 with no modifications and they did it suprisingly fast. No match for a C6 but they would both give most other cars a run for their money.
Gentlemen, you’re going about this all wrong....LOL
When this sort of thing happens to me, I let the guy pass, then ride his rear view mirror. This tends to make them nervous, thus they speed up. So, I stay with them in their review mirror, thus they speed up or slow down because they are nervous about the "idiot" in the car behind them, they pull off or slow way down.
Three separate occasions, he got nabbed by state high patrol for speeding, while I drove right by at a reduced speed. True Story
Don’t get me wrong, I do know where the floor is and I find it on occasion, but, and I always drive safely. As it was stated…speed is for the track.
So because he wanted to see what his car would do he's a "knucklehead" and had "jealous rage?" Are you serious? Does that mean you were an even bigger knuckhead and had more rage since you took the challenge?
I get having fun like that. I don't get the insults and name calling.
*pedal*
it sounds to me like there were two knucklheads out on the road that day.
Is it just me or is this c6 discussion forum getting boring.
Just a little....
What cracks me up is someone post a thread like this and then the forum safety police chastise them for it. If you're not going to have a little fun with these cars, why the heck buy one?

Excellent question and would be a great thread as I often wondered the same thing. I know many buy their Vettes to Zaino them, post pictures, buy Escort radar and Valentine radar detectors, then set their cruise control 5 mph above the speed limit.
