Excellent question and would be a great thread as I often wondered the same thing. I know many buy their Vettes to Zaino them, post pictures, buy Escort radar and Valentine radar detectors, then set their cruise control 5 mph above the speed limit.

I love my Vette. I try to take care of it but I also like to DRIVE IT. I like having fun with it too. I have the Escort so that hopefully when I'm having fun it will warn me if there's a fun sponge ahead - the top speed on my car SO FAR is 150 and not on a track. (I feel the forum police a closing in...) I've never tried Zaino - it sounds like toooooo much work for me... (Isn't the car supposed to be fun? Not work???) My car is clean but it could stand a good waxing - I don't know when I'll get the done... I definitely have a few little scratches in my car too.

It seems that the ones who always want to "take me" are the ones in the worn out Civics or something like that. I assume they have Vettenis envy.

I agree. It took me a long time to realize this. I was always thinking that these morons in mustangs, civics, etc wanted to race. It would **** me off and sometimes I would oblige, but that was rare. It was not until I came across a Lambo driving down an open highway that I could see things from their perspective. He passed me but I sped up to stay with him. He let me stay there for a few seconds and then floored it and he was gone. It took a little while but I caught up and gave him a thumbs up before I had to exit.

I have no idea if that guy really thought I wanted to race or if he realized that I just wanted to see what his car could do, but ever since then, I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and assume that they just want to see why my car can do.

But on the otherhand, every now and again, I will encounter an idiot, moron, knucklehead or whatever you want to call that person. They are just pissed that someone got in front of them, even if I am driving faster than they are. They'll try to pass me and give me the stink eye, and depending on my mood and the traffic/road conditions, sometimes I'll just let them go on bye or sometimes I'll show them how stupid they really are. No matter what I choose to do, it's fun for me because I know I've gotten to them, and I'm better than them, and I wasn't even trying.

I swear I was smoked by a turbo grand am once... I'll never forget it. This was about 7 years ago I had a 3000GT VR4 with 13T turbos and supporting mods. Mind you I would dust supras from a dig like no problem.
Was at a light and I hear a spool like WHOOOOOSHHHH I look over and it's a silly Grand Am! Light turns green and we go, I have him off the line and by top of 2nd he slingshots past me and put a bus on me. Holy crap

I think everyone knows what car will beat them. pull next to a lambo in a stock C6 probably get smoked if they can drive. Civic pulls next to a C6 he knows he is going to get smoked.....but just how bad is that ascot whipping going to be.
Drive like you stole it....it might make someones dream to own a fast Corvette

This reminds me of my drive to work one night. I was cruising along and some butthead comes up next to me in a rice burner with a coffee can exhaust buzzz buzzzzz. I shook my head. He kept on and kept on for about a mile. I goosed it enough to get way ahead of his Mr. Coffee Maker lol. Next thing I know, he catches up and kaboom. His hood explodes! A fireball came out the side and he quickly pulled off onto the grass. I really felt sorry for the guy.https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ilies/eek6.gif
