Oh, I have not made the switch just yet. Will try to do that this evening and see if that will work.

Did you try to open the passenger door when the driver door would not open? If you try the driver door when it doesn't open, as you walk behind the vehicle the fob will be sensed and the horn will sound two or three short beeps. You'll know the fob has been sensed and the passenger door may open. This will tell you if you have a mechanical problem with the drivers door of a fob problem not being sensed.
