They use a special glue, all the way around the glass that bonds to the frame. That both holds the glass in and is the weatherproofing for the glass.
No gasket. It is a fast curing adhesive glue applied with a caulking type gun.

I don't know I was just told there is a gasket. Maybe they were talked about something on the side........ Who knows
Guess I'll find out when they do it

Well I went yesterday and Safelite in Baton Rouge did what seems to be a fantastic job (hasn't rained so I can't say it isn't leaking but I'm confident that it is fine). The tech was very thorough explaining everything to me and made sure to log all prior imperfections on the car with me before putting on my new glass.

I received a glass with the GM logo buffed off as well. The waiting room has a giant window into the service bay so you can watch everything if you wanted, and they offer free bottles of water, coffee and wireless internet.

Just sharing my experience.
