Come on now... "Is it ok?" is not what you asked in your original post -- you asked if because you had a problem with YOUR car early on, does it mean that ALL C6 are poorly built? Clearly, the answer from the group majority was "no" and gave their own experiences to illustrate. Apparently you did not get the answer you wanted.
As you've found here, however, if you just want to look for someone that will commiserate with your belief that the model is crap, you indeed can find them, just as you can on any car forum.
OK I wont ask again if there are quality issues with corvettes.
They are perfect, they are perfect, they are perfect.
There now I believe they are perfect too.

See? Wasn't so hard, was it? (kidding!)
Regardless of whether it is common or not, it *is* frustrating to have something go wrong so early. Hopefully it will be cleared up quickly, and you can get back to enjoying the car again.
09 - drove it about 13,000 miles in three years. ZERO repairs
13 Grand Sport - has over 10,000 miles on it so far including an A&A supercharger. ZERO repairs
I never said I didn't like the car. I was just making a statement about its reliability. You would think I was talking about peoples Mama by questioning a corvettes repair record the way people are taking it so personally.
I don't know if I'd go that far. What you appear to be getting is the same one-off experience of others as you yourself have experienced with your Corvette. The difference is that most who have posted have not had the number of problems you've had. So, what it appears to be is that your situation is somewhat unique and not the norm. That doesn't mean there have never been owners on CF who've had multiple problems---there have been. But they haven't been much in your thread.
And yeh, some get a little ego into the ownership of the Corvette, but not too much. Just explainin' what their experience has been. Take 'er easy!
There are only a few dozen anecdotal examples from either side on this thread, despite the tens of thousands of C6s out there.
To get the overall numbers of HB failures, oil pan leaks (both of which seem too common), etc. that effect the total number of C6s would be helpful.
I suspect GM has a good idea but it's maybe not public knowledge. But some amount of the work is off warranty and done by independent shops, so it might be hard to figure.
So did mine. If yours was the front also, we need to demand a recall. But we have to be able to keep our parts.
Is that dog chained to the back of your car or what? Every time I read a post of yours there is poor Benny sitting at attention, doing all he can to cover up those ugly black wheels.
and yes I own a Ural. And yes my 2013 corvette only has 900 miles on it. It is having a steering issue. Looks like it will need a steering rack replacement.
So a steering rack at 900 miles seems OK to you all? and a recall.
This is not a good start when my C4 was pretty reliable.
Absolutely not. However, your original post (I owned a c4 for 15 years and bought a new c6 in 2013. Is it me or does anyone else spend more time with repairs than driving) suggests to me that the "sitting in the garage time" far exceeds the driving or repair time.
Stuff breaks when it just sits.

No chains. I just told him there is a chance Donwil will show up to put some chrome wheels on my car. Benny has not moved except to eat and wee. He must really not like chrome wheels.:

Stuff breaks while just sitting ?? I think I know what you are trying to say....but that's just a little confusing....LOL.

Yep, they do. When Harrah's sold off it's collections, some bought these pristine cars at a premium only to find they needed to be 100% mechanically rebuilt. They were all rotted from disuse. The finishes were perfect but the mechanics weren't.
As to the OP, any marque has samples which are garbage cars. That doesn't mean anything in the marque's overall reliability or utility. In the past year or so, I"ve heard (in a Porsche board) of two examples which were so bad that the company replaced the whole car rather than attempt another fix.
My personal belief is that these cars aren't bad from the factory but the get bought by owners they hate and they react accordingly.
Sorry to hear your having problems. Crap happens no mater how well built they are. True for all makes and models.
Hope you can get it fixed and start enjoying your C6.
My experience has been the exact opposite of yours. My C4 has required way too many repairs. The list would probably crash this Web page it is so long.
And my C6 has been very reliable over the last 8 years and 152,000 miles. Fuel pump was the biggest problem, could smell gas in the car. Had it replaced at 75,000 miles along with half shaft seals on diff. Shocks, brakes, tires etc etc, normal wear and tear items gave been replaced.
I'm with wayback here.... I have almost forgotten how to use my tools after I bought my Grand Sport and sold my 92 coupe. I think I expected that though.
So you had a fairly significant problem out of e gate, hopefully the warranty covers it and the dealer doesn't screw it up. You'll be fine. C6s are great cars.
Not just you. My 08 is the least reliable car I have owned. Bought it with 30,000 miles and now have 78,000. Replaced transmission, end links, leather dash, water pump, oil pan gasket, interior wiring repaired, mass air flow, and headlight lenses. Brakes and other items are normal wear and to be. Expected. Fun car to drive but build quality is poor. I have owned English sports cars that were more reliable.
