poorly made

Now THAT is really funny! Good thing Don has a sense of humor, too.
It sure does sound like it with all those things going wrong, some of which are potential (read: potential) items from a flood.
So a steering rack at 900 miles seems OK to you all? and a recall.
This is not a good start when my C4 was pretty reliable.
But you have owned the car over two years, only put on 900 miles, and apparently the only issue is with the steering rack? As in it clicks/stutters?
No, it does NOT seem ok...not at 900, 9000, or even 90,000 miles. But, OP, take the car back to the dealer, have them replace the rack, and drive the car.
You mention your C4 was "pretty reliable". Come back after you've put some miles on your C6 and let us know if it, too, is "pretty reliable".

Let's compare your experience with my own:
Not a problem

On hot days, after an hour or so of driving, the brakes will some times screech.
The original GY tires show so much wear after only 7,600 miles, that I suspect, I'll need new tires at 10k miles.

My dealer changes my oil for free

My neighbor owns a Prius, and has had nearly 4 years, and 25,000 miles of trouble free driving!
No brake dust, no roof creaks, no flats, still on his original tires, and his nav unit has never made a mistake, and he gets 40 mpg.

Let's compare your experience with my own:
Haven't experienced this yet in my GS. I did with my first C5 and my previous C6.
Not a problem

Sounds like you drive your car and have summer max performance tires.

I don't even watch MSM news. I read newspapers, but form my own opinions and always check facts.

You can't be an Army retiree, drive a Vette, and work in the military industrial complex and be too liberal.
Some things I'm liberal about. Other things I'm not.
Really depends on the issue.

BTW, I just trolled through the politics/religion/weirdo forum and man, quite a few angry folks over there. I noticed a few of your words of wisdom and liked a lot/some of what I read.

Most people over there are good folks to engage with. Don't confuse passion with anger.

I haven't seen you post in PR&C lately

If you're not a Liberal, you have to start working very hard, at not sounding like one.
