we flew to anchorage right after I bought my C6. I took the manual on the plane with me and read all about my new car on that 8+ hour flight.

Back to the 72 year-old guy and his dog.
After he sat in the Waffle House for a few hours, he remembered the dog was still in the car. When he went back to the car, the dog he dearly loved had already died. After a period of shock, remorse, and mourning the dog, then panic set in and when he couldn't get out immediately, he either had a heart attack or just gave up on life.
The media no longer reports the news, they do everything possible to sensationalize every detail and make up things they can't confirm, so I decided to make up my own version.
BTW, how many of us ever bothered to check if there was an OM in a rental car, let alone read it?

Those same people post saying they are locked out of their car because of a dead battery! Or they are stuck in a parking lot because the fob battery died! Really?
If they read the manual they would know you use your key to open the trunk and release the drivers door. In addition, if fob battery is dead, you can insert it in the fob slot in the glove box and still drive the car! No reason you can't deal with either situation. Only difference is if the car battery is dead, you need a jump.
After I started this thread I asked my wife if she would know how to get out of our car if the battery was dead and the doors wouldn't open and she said, well yeah, the handles by the seat.

Really sorry to hear about the dog and the owner
