Ran the Tail of the Dragon!
I took a solo trip down to Gastonia NC to see a friend and stopped off in Asheville for two days and explored the Smoky mts. it was 1889 miles, and I averaged over 25 mpg. I had the hammer down at 80mph most of the way with a few 100mph blast's to get around the left lane drivers. The Dragon is not for the faint of heart!! As you will see at the end of the video and I dropped the camera!
Fontana damn...

You dropped the camera. Were you holding it?
Looks like you pretty much stayed on your side of the road. Be nice if it was a closed course and you could cut the corners on those left hand turns.
Any idea of your speed? Hard to tell from the video and I've never been there.

That's on my bucket list of must-do drives. I also wanna go to NV'S silver state classic event, UT's Bonneville salt flats and Route 66 starting from CA. AT LEAST through AZ. Thanks for sharing.

looks like fun but hard to judge speed
Next year I'm road tripping to the museum and was going to hit this road. I'm thinking our C7 because of the upgraded suspension over our C6 but either way should be a blast.
How was the actual experience of driving the road?

Drifting
I just did this on Sunday. I also ordered some photos from the guys set up taking pictures. Even though there was traffic, they did a nice job singling out each vehicle. As far as the speed, honestly, I was surprised that the speed limit allowed up to 30 mph. There were several turns I did 25 mph and it was mighty uncomfortable, especially for the wife. The most I hit on the G-meter was .63.

My wife has gotten used to it... .63g is a Sunday drive. She starts getting uncomfortable around .99 and she hasn't been with me when I've crossed 1.1g

I did it finally about Three weeks ago on a Sunday. Got up and said, I'm outta here.
It is not for the faint of heart for sure but a ton of fun. I think I did most of it in 3rd gear if you can believe it.
My problem was coming back I got behind a few Harley riders that were going a tad slower than I would have been. That was like 25mph. The third rider in their group was having a bit of a time trying to figure out what gear he wanted to be in coming out of the turns. I kept letting them get a bit ahead and even just drifted into most of the turns and still kept closing in on him.
Oh well, it was a lot of fun and a long day for me to get up there. I did that and then decided do go across the Cherohala Skyway on the way back down.
It was a fun filled, long day.

Speed is between 30 to 45mph down to 10 for some turns. I'm not one for amusement rides and this thing whipped me,dizzy nausea with sweats at the end,not for a weak stomach!!
