I am so sorry to hear the news. Having had a DVT myself, I know how scary it can be. This gives us all another reason to hug our loved ones a little tighter tonight, count every one of our blessings, and smile more because of these blessings. I know Brody will be in the car with you every time you take it out and I, for one, will think of him and the others who were never able to reach their dreams because their lives were taken too soon when I drive my Corvette to a show in the mountains this weekend.
This has been a terribly heartbreaking couple of threads to read. I'm not the praying type but I thought I'd join in for the lil' guy and reading this, I feel like a thousand pounds on my shoulders. I am so incredibly saddened by this outcome. It goes without say that such a youngster should never go this early. I really don't know what to say that will make things better but I will admit my sadness for the loss of such a beautiful young soul.
John, I am very sorry to hear the most recent news. There are few words that can help at a time like this. I do believe, in time, your heart will mend.
At some point in the near future, you might consider the creation of a scholarship in his name, possibly something dealing with goals he had for an adult occupation. I helped create a scholarship program 14 years ago for my niece, who was killed by a drunk driver. The program is still going, and the rewards have been great, all in her name.
