Default Donuts!!

My Husband taught me how to do Donuts!! I'm in love!!! The greatest thing in life is doing donuts in a Corvette!!!

My Husband wants me to learn how to drive/control the car. We watched a couple videos of people not even speeding and the Vette came out from under them! Very scary. He will be getting me some cones and is going to teach me how to do a figure 8. I'm so excited to learn how to really drive my car!!

Thanks!

Coming from a C5, it's amazing how powerful the C6 is. For me it is super fast compared the our C5 we had. I never really felt nervous in the C5 like I do in the C6. I haven't even used all the horsepower, I wont until I'm 100% comfortable in it.

I'm really excited to learn!!

I highly recommend you take a high performance driving course. There are usually tracks and events coordinated for that. They are sponsored and taught by professionals. Something to consider.
In addition, you can look up autocross events and enter one of those to practice. That way you are in a controlled environment on a track or in a parking lot with cones. Enjoy and good luck!

I have the video, just need to figure out how to upload it.

LOL. Yes, we have a habit of blowing through tires. However if I'm able to learn it will be worth it!

Do yourself a favor and take a driving course, it will teach you more than you ever realized about you and your limitations and what to expect out of your car

Like some of the above suggestions, a low-speed autocross event is perfect for seeing how the car handles and how it will get away from you and how to get it back under control. You will also learn what NOT to do when trying to regain control. I've killed my share of cones

Perhaps you could explain what the point of doing "donuts" is? Seems like a great way to ruin tires and put unnecessary stress on the car's frame and suspension. It also appears to provide the added opportunity of sliding your car into something and doing great damage. Why is essentially getting out of control such a great thing? IIRC, it is a form of "sport" developed around the idiots who take their pitiful little egos and their pitiful little Hondas to the street to burn rubber the only way they are able to.

Where are ya located.... We have an autox coming up next month in the Monterey, Ca area......

When I first got my new to me C6 I did a few autox's to get the feel of the car and its power...was a great idea....... cheap way to get to know your car...

I remember doing donuts in my van, my IROC and a few other rear wheel drive cars but they were always in the winter on snow and ice. Loved doing them back then but not sure i want to do them in my vette. Have tried in my Chrysler 300 but it has snows on and not quite the same.

Man i miss those donuts. Great memories and fun.
