Thanks for the advice Seadawg, I should have been more specific. I would want a coupe, either base or GS, not Z06 or ZR1. Most likely automatic. LT3 or LT4, probably with navigation. My only concern with the nav is that I've heard the latest update was in 2013 so there may be some data out of date.
I have manual 2013 Grand Sport with Magnetic Ride that I daily year round and it has been great. I did swap out the factory radio for a DVD Pioneer touch screen unit but other than that my interior factory (no additional cutting, stock speakers, stock amp, added sub ) Even with the factory nav unit you can bluetooth you phone through it which should alleviate any travel worries.
BTW: My car has +60k miles and has traveled as far south as Mississippi and as far north as Maine. Running 70ish MPH I average between 24-28 MPG on road trips with the wife and a hatch full of luggage.
Chevy has a habit of giving many different models the SS designation! So when making reference to a SS you need to be model specific!! Just my opinion from an old school guy! Back in the 60's Chevy did have a Impala SS as well!!!
