Some guys said it was simple, you say a PITA.

I see you mounted the controller in the ashtray -- was THAT the PITA part?

You will love it. Lots of fun and you don't have to wait for some joker to send you tunes or updates or whatever he sends you. And you did it for much less.

Removing the console, disconnecting the traction control. PITA for me. Easy for others.

If you hook up a scanner and watch the relationship between the pedal position and the throttle opening it is not a 1:1 ratio. In general terms 50% pedal is only 30% throttle opening. All the controlled does is alter the signal from the pedal to the ECM. You can set it to anything from tons of lag to an on/off switch. We never had these problems back in the day with a carb though !

I did take the 13mm bolts out and seemed to make it much easier. Thank you Vitesse for the on the fly adjustability that the competition does NOT offer. No more lag. Car reacts now when asked to.
Can I ride in it and see the difference in here in Dallas also always curious about that product...thanks

Guys, I think I misled everyone on my install experience. The Vitesse initial installation was easy. What was hard was moving it to the ashtray. That was the bad part. Sorry for the confusion on MY part.

May be the wrong place for this, but on their site it says it is available for a 2006-13 C6, I have a 2005, is there a reason it doesn't work for my car?

It has a different computer. Ahmed is working on one for the 2005 though.

Sure. My problem at moment is it is hard for me to drive it due to work overload. Shoot me a PM.

I hooked mine up tentatively this past weekend and just ran the wire around the console to make sure I was going to like it before putting in the effort of a more stealth install. Needless to say...it's a keeper!

I keep my M2W remote in the ashtray as it offers just enough friction to hold it in there with enough room to slip my finger in to activate it. Since that space is occupied, I plan to remove the cigarette lighter and double-sided tape the Vitesse controller over the cigarette lighter socket. I am hearing all this talk about running the wire without having to drill or cut the ashtray, can that also be done with the controller in the area that I am referring?

That was covered in one of the other "Vitesse" threads, which was active within the past 1-2 weeks.

Show us your install when you get it done!

I installed mine on the lighter side because I wanted a flat surface to mount the control box and I didn't want to route the wire around the tray assembly.

Removing the lighter is a bit of a pain. I ran the wire for the control box through the lighter hole, but also used a dremel to cut a small channel toward the edge of the assembly to route the wire so the control box sits perfectly flat. You can barely see the wire even if you're looking for it. If I ever decided to remove the Vitesse (I don't see that happening), I could still reinstall the lighter and it would be barely visible. I also wrapped the back of the lighter assembly with insulation to protect the control box from as much heat that might come off the tunnel as possible.

Very nice. I have not mounted mine yet. Am giving it some thought.

I haven't read a bad thing about this piece...I'm really thinking about dropping the hammer on it.

I have a 2009 Base with an Auto 6, yes serious lag with throttle and corresponding transmission engagement. Problem solved with the Viteese throttle controller.

Do it you will not regret it ..

Some have reported doom and gloom because it says off road use only ... I am sure that the manufacture makes this statement because it is not certified just like "headers" say for off road use only ....

And they say what happens if it fails ....

I say what happens if anything electronic on the car fails ...

What happens if someone "bricks" your ECM loading a tune ...

Go for it , it makes the car react like a corvette should react to the gas pedal input

So what did they say about that? It's something I've pondered . . .
