I have a 06 vert and my wife says it's too loud! Either it gets quiet or the car goes. Live the car, and the wife, so how can i quiet the exhaust. The former owner put Megaflow muffflers on the car, how much quieter would an OME system be? The current system Iisn't real loud, but it does drone at cruise speed. That's what the wife dislikes! Help!
No drone, and it will have a slight rumble at idle, but is not loud on the interior.
It will fix your issues for sure.
Mufflers in the FS section can be had for a very good price ($100.00). Also, Corvetterecycling.com has lot's for sale for less than $200.00 a pr for the OEM mufflers.
You could always buy the little woman a set of ear plugs. Actually, I recommend fitting the car with a stock exhaust system and adding a pair of QTP electric cutouts with the remote opener. The remote setup lets you open the cutouts partially, giving the car everything from a stock sound when closed to a brain rattling roar when fully open. I usually click mine about three times quickly on the open button and the result sounds like an aftermarket exhaust. It still turns heads, but it definitely can be lived with. When your spouse is in the car, close em and it's back to stock Toyota Camry.

They have an Extreme kit that's not advertised. I'm going to be holding onto my Car for a long time so I don't mind ripping out the interior to do it correctly. I'm sure it will make it a serious cruiser.

stock mufflers do not have drone... they also have no sound! its a trade off, you could probably put a trade offer out there for a stock set for your system and have the other party pay shipping costs.
Find a set a factory mufflers here in the for sale forum. Problem solved.
Or buy her a nice set of earplugs. Any wife that tells a man to sell his car because she doesn't like the way it sounds. Really must not love that person very much. Sounds like there are other issues in the marriage. IMO of course. Because that is just ridiculous.

My 06 came with Magnaflow mufflers on it. The drone was BAD. Put on Borla S-II, now I can hear the exhaust without the Drone. I am vary happy with the Borla .

Lots of great advice! I've had the wife allot longer than the vert and I think I'll keep her. I like the sound of the magnaflow, just not the drone at 1500RPM at70 MPH. I think I need to change mufflers. Corsa Touring or Borla A Type 2. Will either of these not drone at cruise? Recommendations please Thanks
I've had two friends who sold their beloved Corvettes because their wives didn't like them. Actually, I should thank one of the wives because her husband sold me the '69 427 coupe that I had. The other guy had an '03 Anniversary C5 with all the bells and whistles. His wife, a third grade teacher, was frightened to ride in it because it was so low. He recently bought a brand new 2016 Mustang and was headed to Disneyland the week after he got the car. I asked if he was going to enjoy driving the new Mustang to L.A. and he replied that they were taking his truck because the wife is afraid of this one too. My late wife hated the '69 because it was cramped and hard to drive for her. No hydraulic assist on the clutch. Still, when we went out to breakfast on a Saturday morning she never complained about taking the Vette. It would seem that women are attracted to Corvettes until they are married to a guy with one.
